The corpus luteum forms a few hours after ovulation

Women who have a little knowledge of pregnancy know that if they have sex after ovulation, they are very likely to get pregnant. So what is the reason for ovulation? In order to increase the probability of pregnancy, women need to carry out relevant knowledge training and learn to calculate the ovulation cycle. Progesterone is a necessary condition for maintaining pregnancy, so we need to understand how long it takes for progesterone to be produced after ovulation.

First of all, what is the follicular phase? The follicular phase refers to the time between ovulation and the day before menstruation, which is usually 14 days. During this period, under the influence of progesterone's growth hormone, the luteinizing hormone metabolized will help the embryo implant and will not dissipate until three months later. If the embryo does not implant, menstruation will occur on schedule. Therefore, the follicular phase is very important for women.

Secondly, due to the ovulation period, after a series of reactions in the female body, some yellowish cell masses will gradually be produced, which is progesterone. Generally, the volume of the vagina is largest around seven to eight days after ovulation. If the egg is not fertilized successfully, the ovarian sensation will gradually fade away ten days after ovulation.

Finally, many symptoms will appear during the luteal phase, such as breast pain, back pain and knee pain, and these feelings will also appear before menstruation. There is also skin aging and many pimples on the face. You will often feel dry mouth and thirst, and may continue to be irritable and inexplicably manic. Therefore, during the luteal phase, women should try to maintain a happy mood, eat a light diet, drink plenty of water, ensure good sleep, and do more outdoor exercise.

What is the effect of progesterone

1. In the middle and late stages of the menstrual cycle, the glandular ducts in the uterine mucosa grow, the uterus swells, and the endometrium thickens, preparing for the fusion and insertion of sperm and egg. After the sperm and egg combine and embed, they form an embryo, reduce the fluid regulation of the pregnant uterus, inhibit its activity, and allow the fetus to grow safely.

2. Under the interaction with estrogen, it promotes the adequate growth and development of breasts and prepares for milk production.

3. It closes the cervix, reduces and thickens the mucus, and makes it difficult for sperm to penetrate. When used in large doses, it has a negative feedback effect on the hypothalamus-pituitary gland, inhibits the secretion of pituitary gonadotropin, and produces the effect of inhibiting ovulation.

4. It can inhibit the contraction of smooth muscles.
