Normal values of human chorionic gonadotropin during pregnancy

Human chorionic villus growth hormone is a glycoprotein metabolized by the embryonic trophoblast. After the sperm and egg combine, human chorionic gonadotropin begins to be secreted and released into the pregnant mother's blood. It will rise rapidly in a short period of time and maintain a relatively stable level at 18-20 weeks of pregnancy. The level of human chorionic gonadotropin during pregnancy is related to the number of weeks of pregnancy, and there are obvious individual differences among different pregnant women.

Generally, during the first three months of pregnancy, human chorionic gonadotropin approximately doubles daily. Counting from the time of embryo implantation, human chorionic gonadotropin rises to 50-500 at 1-2 weeks of pregnancy, 500-10,000 at 3-4 weeks of pregnancy, 15,000-200,000 at 6-8 weeks of pregnancy, and 10,000-100,000 at 2-3 months of pregnancy.

The level of human chorionic gonadotropin varies in different stages of pregnancy and non-pregnancy. In the absence of pregnancy, the blood hCG level is less than 5U/L. Generally, during the 7th to 10th day of pregnancy, the HCG concentration in blood cells exceeds 5.0U/L, during the 30th day of pregnancy, it exceeds 100U/L, and during the 40th day of pregnancy, it exceeds 2000U/L. If there is trophoblastic disease, it will generally exceed 100,000U/L. The level of blood chorionic gonadotropin can be used to determine whether the pregnancy is present, assess the placental function, and determine whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy. The placental function can be determined based on the change pattern of the blood chorionic gonadotropin level.

The standard value of blood chorionic gonadotropin should be 0~5 umg/L. If a woman in her growing period has sex without using any contraceptive methods and the standard value of chorionic gonadotropin exceeds 25, it can be basically confirmed that she is pregnant. If a woman in her growing years has relatively regular menstrual periods and her menstrual period is more than ten days late, in other words, her pregnancy period exceeds 40 days, she can go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination. If she is pregnant, the ultrasound examination can show the gestational sac in the uterine cavity.
