Is 1400 a low basic metabolic rate for girls?

For people who have never exercised, exercising is likely to increase their metabolic rate. But first we need to understand what metabolic rate is. Our body, apart from daily activities, consumes a lot of heat that we don't actively consume. For example, the beating of the heart requires energy, the human brain requires energy to think, and the normal operation of the internal organs also requires energy. In order to maintain the vitality of human cells, all of them require energy.

In other words, even if we do nothing during the day and don't even move our little fingers, we still need to consume a lot of kinetic energy. The energy consumed is the metabolic rate.

The metabolic rate of a normal man is about 1600~1800 calories, and the metabolic rate of a normal woman is about 1300~1600 calories.

The main effect of exercise on metabolism is to increase muscle mass when exercising. The bigger and stronger your muscles are, the higher your metabolic rate will be. This is also the reason why strong men get hungry quickly.

But not all fitness exercises can improve muscle quality. Compared with no exercise, aerobic exercise such as jogging can improve muscle metabolic capacity to a certain extent, but the effect is not obvious.

The most important way to improve muscle quality is to do strength training. Common strength training includes barbell bench press, pull-up, weighted squats, etc. While doing strength training, pay attention to supplementing protein to speed up muscle growth. Once your metabolic rate increases, you can lose weight while lying down.

It should be noted that since girls are congenitally lacking in testosterone, it is very difficult for them to grow muscles, and too obvious muscle lines do not conform to the contemporary mainstream aesthetic concepts. Therefore, girls are strongly recommended to use aerobic exercise as the main method of weight loss, supplemented by strength training.
