What is the normal progesterone level at 7 weeks of pregnancy?

The normal value of progesterone at 7 weeks of pregnancy is a reference value for clinical medicine to distinguish the estrogen metabolism status of women at 7 weeks of pregnancy. Many people know that if the progesterone level is slightly low in the early stages of pregnancy, there may be a risk of threatened miscarriage. Therefore, they are very worried about whether their progesterone levels are normal during pregnancy, but they don’t know what the standard progesterone level is. Next, let’s take a look at the normal progesterone level in ng/ml at 7 weeks of pregnancy.

The reference range of normal progesterone value at 7 weeks of pregnancy is: 76.4±23.7nmol/L.

During pregnancy, progesterone is mainly metabolized by the fetus, and its amount is related to fetal size and blood secretion. In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, the level of progesterone increases significantly and enters the fetus's blood. Increased progesterone levels are common in hydatidiform mole, diabetic pregnancy, mild pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, essential hypertension, congenital 17α-hydroxylase deficiency, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, ovarian granulosa cell tumor, ovarian lipoid tumor, multiple births, and the follicular phase of the normal physiological cycle. Decreased progesterone levels are common in cases of poor corpus luteum function, delayed fetal language development, stillbirth, and severe pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome.

When checking progesterone levels, there are some things to keep in mind:

1. Blood tests require fasting and you cannot eat after 8 pm the night before the test.

2. On the day of blood test, it is best to wear loose clothes with larger sleeves to prevent the sleeves from being unable to roll up when blood is drawn, or the sleeves from being too tight after blood is drawn, causing difficulty in blood circulation.

3. Don't be nervous when having blood tests. If you are too nervous, it will cause blood vessels to constrict, making it difficult to have blood tests. Therefore, you should relax your emotions when having blood tests during routine physical examinations.

4. After blood test, press the needle hole for 3-5 minutes to activate blood circulation.
