What are the symptoms of pregnancy if menstruation is not coming?

If a woman has a delayed menstrual period after having sex, she should consider whether she is pregnant. The reason for the delayed menstruation may be pregnancy or irregular menstruation. What are the main manifestations of pregnancy when the delayed menstruation occurs?

1. What are the main symptoms of pregnancy if menstruation is not coming?

How to calculate the menstrual cycle? A complete physiological cycle starts from the first day of the menstrual period to the first day of the next menarche. Under normal circumstances, the menstrual cycle is measured in months, but in reality it varies from person to person. The calculation of menstrual cycle should include the time of menarche. Some women only calculate the time when the menstrual period ends, which may make them feel that the menstrual cycle is shortened. A menstrual cycle is generally 21-35 days, with an average of 28 days. It is normal to have one menstrual cycle at the beginning and end of each month.

What is considered a normal menstrual cycle? The length of menstrual cycles varies from woman to woman. If the menstrual cycle is 7-10 days early or late, it is considered normal. As long as a certain periodicity is maintained, it is not considered irregular menstruation.

The physiological cycle is also called the uterine and ovarian cycle, which is divided into four stages, including the follicular phase, ovulation phase, follicular phase and physiological phase:

1. Follicular phase: The follicular phase is from the first day of menarche to ovulation. During this period, under the influence of follicle-stimulating hormone, the body's estrogen and testosterone concentrations increase, the follicles gradually mature, and the endometrium thickens.

2. Ovulation period: Ovulation period refers to the whole process of the egg and the surrounding cumulus granulosa cells being discharged together. Women's ovulation period is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period.

3. Follicular phase: The follicular phase refers to the period from ovulation to the day before menarche.

2. The difference between menstruation and pregnancy

(1) Emergency contraception: The main ingredients of emergency contraception are estrogen and female hormones. By taking emergency contraception, female ovulation is inhibited, thereby affecting the fusion of egg cells and male sperm, achieving the purpose of contraception. However, if you take too much emergency contraceptive, the ingredients in the medicine will affect the secretion of estrogen by the uterus and ovaries, and the uterine wall cannot grow normally, and the endometrium is thin, which will cause a decrease in menstrual flow or even amenorrhea.

(2) Weight loss products: For example, weight loss products containing hormone drugs generally contain thyroid hormones. Improper use of weight loss products can easily cause menstrual disorders in women, resulting in symptoms of irregular menstruation or amenorrhea, affecting normal menstruation. In more serious cases, it may cause infertility.

(3) Medical abortion treatment drugs: Medical abortion is usually performed by taking the protease level anti-estrogen drugs mifepristone and misoprostol tablets. These therapeutic drugs will inhibit the dopamine receptors in the central nervous system, reduce the amount of hypothalamic pituitary secretion system entering the anterior pituitary gland, and thus cause a decrease in the secretion of gonadotropin and corticosteroids by the anterior pituitary gland, resulting in amenorrhea and delayed ovulation.
