Can endometrial thickening heal on its own?

Endometrial thickening is also called endometrial hyperplasia. It refers to the proliferative space-occupying lesions that occur in the uterine wall. Most endometrial hyperplasias are cross-sectional changes or maintain a continuous benign state. Only a very small number of cases develop into endometrial cancer after a long period of time. So can endometrial thickening be cured?

Physiological endometrial thickening is a normal condition. Some physiological factors can also cause endometrial thickening. This condition is generally called endometrial hyperplasia. Endometrial hyperplasia is generally not easy to cure.

Endometrial thickening can be caused by both physiological and physiologic factors. Under normal circumstances, under the action of estrogen and oestrogen secreted by the uterus and ovaries, the uterine wall undergoes regular thickening and shedding. This cyclical change is reflected in the female menstrual cycle, and this kind of endometrial thickening is a normal physiological phenomenon. When the female endocrine system's hypothalamic-pituitary-uterine-ovarian axis is imbalanced or diseases such as polycystic ovary syndrome may affect the ovulation period of the uterus and ovaries, causing the uterus to be stimulated by estrogen for a long time without estrogen resistance, resulting in abnormal thickening of the uterine wall and forming physiological endometrial hyperplasia.

Endometrial hyperplasia is generally not easy to cure. Patients may have abnormal menstrual periods such as prolonged menstruation, increased menstrual volume, heavy bleeding, and infrequent menstruation. Infertility is also a typical manifestation of patients with endometrial hyperplasia. Therefore, patients with endometrial hyperplasia should receive timely treatment to avoid affecting their health and fertility.

Thickening of the endometrium may cause irregular menstruation, the cause of which is often related to excessive estrogen metabolism in the uterus and ovaries and insufficient progesterone levels. Severe conditions may lead to infertility, so patients with endometritis should pay more attention to their diet.
