At this time, you must pay attention to your diet, because women's body consumption is very large after giving birth, and nutrients must be replenished in time. However, some foods are best not to be consumed if the lochia is not clear, as it will also affect the discharge of lochia.

Can I eat longan if the lochia is not clear after delivery?

It is best not to eat longan if the lochia has not been cleared up. Dried longan belongs to the food of replenishing qi and blood, but it also has the effect of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, which can easily cause increased bleeding or prolonged duration of lochia. Anti-infection and drugs that promote the discharge of blood clots can be taken orally. If the postpartum lochia lasts for a long time, you should go to the hospital for further ultrasound examination to see if there is any residue in the uterine cavity. If there is any residue in the uterine cavity, symptomatic treatment is required. After the postpartum lochia is discharged, you can eat longan, jujube, etc. in moderation.

The amount of lochia in normal delivery women is cleared in three stages:

Lochia discharge stage 1: Stubborn postpartum lochia

In the first few days after giving birth, the amount of lochia (i.e. the amount of blood) is relatively large, the color is bright red, and sometimes contains small blood clots. At this time, there is a small amount of fetal membranes and necrotic decidual tissue. Stubborn lochia lasts for 3-5 days (sometimes up to 7 days), the amount of abnormal uterine bleeding gradually decreases, the serum increases, and it turns into serous lochia.

Lochia discharge step 2: postpartum lochia

After 3-5 days, the amount of blood contained is small, in a slurry form with a light red color, but there is a large amount of necrotic decidual tissue, cervical mucus, intrauterine exudate, and pathogens.

Lochia discharge step 3: White lochia

After about 10 days, the plasma volume gradually decreases, the number of white blood cells increases, and it turns into white lochia. Thick, white in tone. The secretions at this time contain a large number of white blood cells, necrotic tissue, decidua, epidermal cells and bacteria.

How long does it take for the lochia of a cesarean section woman to be clear?

Expelling lochia after giving birth is a process that every pregnant woman must go through. Under normal circumstances, the lochia of the parturient will be clear after about 10 to 20 days.

However, due to individual differences, the time it takes for each woman to continue to discharge lochia after giving birth is different. Under normal circumstances, the lochia will stop about 3 weeks after a woman gives birth. If the lochia is still not clear one month after the cesarean section, and is accompanied by a foul or foul odor, or is accompanied by abdominal pain, fever and other symptoms, then the uterus, bilateral fallopian tubes, vagina, and ovary may be infected; if the amount of lochia discharged actually increases day by day, the color becomes redder and darker day by day, or there are some bruises, or is accompanied by uterine bleeding, vaginal trauma, or infectious symptoms, etc., causing the lochia to continue to be unclean, everyone must pay enough attention and go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
