How to lose weight during breastfeeding

How to lose weight during breastfeeding

In fact, everyone has their own preferences, but this is an era where thinness is considered beautiful, so women who love beauty have always regarded losing weight as their long-term goal and are so determined. However, the glory of motherhood makes them give up their slender bodies, just to provide the fetus in their belly with sufficient rich and balanced nutrition. So, how can pregnant women lose weight after giving birth and during breastfeeding?

1. The timing of weight loss: You must seek the doctor's consent before weight loss. It is usually carried out 6 to 8 weeks after giving birth, because the body needs some time to repair after giving birth and ensure the normal supply of breast milk.

2. Regarding the speed of weight loss, according to the recommendations of the College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of the United Kingdom, it is more appropriate to lose 0.5kg of fat per week during the period of exclusive breastfeeding, and it is not easy to cause adverse effects on the growth and development of the baby.

3. Weight loss method, of course you can't lose weight by dieting, let alone using drugs. The only way is to change your eating structure and find a suitable exercise to carry out for a long time. With the increase of exercise intensity and the decrease of intake, your weight will naturally drop immediately.

4. Daily diet: when breastfeeding is in full swing, new mothers need an additional 500 calories per day to provide nutrition for their babies. When the babies start to eat solid meals, new mothers need an additional 250 calories per day. When breastfeeding is no longer in progress, there is no need to increase the additional calories. Therefore, supplementing protein foods after giving birth is extremely important for the recovery of the new mother's body and to ensure a certain amount of milk secretion. Therefore, it is recommended to choose foods with high protein content and low fat content, such as freshwater fish, lean meat or skinned poultry.

5. Exercise moderately. Breastfeeding mothers can start with simple exercises, such as walking.

It is possible to lose weight during breastfeeding, but you should pay attention to the specific method. You cannot use fasting to lose weight during breastfeeding, because fasting to lose weight may affect milk secretion. It is best to wait until after weaning to lose weight. Breastfeeding mothers can try running to lose weight.

However, running to lose weight during breastfeeding is also a precaution. Doing a lot of running to lose weight too soon after giving birth is not good for uterine recovery. When the body has not recovered yet, excessive exercise can cause uterine prolapse, muscle ligament relaxation, etc., which can cause women to age prematurely.

Mothers who give birth naturally can do some exercises such as turning over, bending their knees, and contracting their anus in bed on the first day after giving birth. Mothers who have undergone cesarean section should get out of bed and stroll around before the stitches are removed, and do some appropriate flipping postures. They can do some appropriate activities after the stitches are removed.

In either case, fat loss should be started 6 months after giving birth, otherwise once the fat is firmly accumulated, it will be very difficult to lose weight in the future. Even if you are still breastfeeding, you can reduce your appetite appropriately, but you must pay attention to nutritional balance, eat more high-nutrition and low-fat foods, and do not reduce fluid intake. In addition, some exercise methods to reduce fat should be taken, such as swimming, yoga and so on.
