My period has not ended for 8 days. What's wrong?

Generally speaking, if the menstrual period is not over on the eighth day, it is very normal, because there may be some residue left during the bleeding, so women do not need to worry too much. But you still need to pay attention to it in your daily life and try to avoid eating colder foods. So, what's the matter if the period is still not clean after 8 days?

My period is still not clean after 8 days

The normal menstrual period lasts 3-7 days. If the menstrual period has not ended after 8 days and there is still dark brown menstrual discharge, it means that the menstrual period is prolonged, which is an abnormal performance. If the combined menstrual flow is heavy, or if there is no menstrual bleeding for about half a month, it may turn into menorrhagia and should be taken seriously.

Blood disease causes prolonged menstruation

Such as thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, etc., often accompanied by severe uterine bleeding at the time of menarche and prolonged menstruation. In addition, chronic anemia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, nephritis, etc. can make the blood vessel wall sensitive and increase the permeability, which leads to increased bleeding time.

Gynecological inflammation caused

Pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, vaginitis, etc. can all cause brown discharge on the eighth day of menstruation. In addition, most of them will be accompanied by increased menstrual volume, lower abdominal pain, lumbar pain, or abnormal increase in leucorrhea or red or yellow discharge.

Caused by abnormal uterine bleeding

Gynecological diseases such as incomplete corpus luteum contraction, intrauterine polyps, uterine fibroids, etc., all cause abnormal uterine bleeding, among which regular bleeding is the most common, which can be manifested as increased menstrual volume, prolonged menstruation or shortened cycle. It can also be manifested as irregular vaginal bleeding without regular menstrual periods.

Chronic uterine hypertrophy

Chronic uterine hypertrophy is caused by pelvic congestion and continuous increase in uterine and ovarian estrogen, which leads to hypertrophy of the uterine muscle layer. It can cause prolonged menstruation and menstruation may still occur on the eighth day of the menstrual period.

Caused by IUD

If the IUD is not placed properly or is placed for too long, it will stimulate abnormal uterine bleeding and cause prolonged menstruation. On the eighth day of the menstrual period, there will still be a small amount of dark brown menstrual discharge.
