Is it serious to have a breast cyst?

Breast cysts are generally not a big deal. Breast cysts usually present as annular breast masses as the main clinical symptom. They can move around, be multiple, and are related to the menstrual cycle. The lumps expand before menstruation and decrease after menstruation. Some patients will experience breast pain in the early stages of menstruation. In clinical medicine, some patients suffer from cysts due to blockage of the mammary gland ducts during lactation, which leads to milk congestion.

It usually occurs in the superficial part of the breast, and the medical history of milk cysts is usually longer. In clinical medicine, the vast majority of breast cysts do not require surgical treatment, only follow-up observation is required. However, patients should note that breast mucinous adenocarcinoma generally also presents cysts as an important clinical manifestation. Therefore, if the patient shows specific manifestations such as thickening of the breast cyst wall and cyst wall growths, a puncture biopsy should be performed immediately to establish a diagnosis. If it is not worse, it can be treated according to the standards for breast cancer.

Breast cysts are generally not serious. Some are cysts caused by sebaceous gland metabolism, some are caused by tube expansion, and some are cystic and solid, with solid components in the lumps. This type is generally caused by inflammation. This type of cyst caused by inflammation is generally one of the factors causing plasma cell mastitis. Like mammary gland enlargement and mammary gland disease, if these things are subjected to external trauma or uneven compression, they may cause cyst rupture and mastitis. However, simple cysts are good, and you also need to look at the size of the cyst. If it is relatively large, it still needs to be treated. The cyst is not large, about 1 mm or 1 cm, and this type of cyst only needs to be observed. In addition, patients with a family history of breast cancer should pay attention to it.

Whether a gynecological cyst is serious or not depends on various factors such as the location and size of the cyst, and the impact on nearby internal organs of the human body, which can only be determined after a detailed examination. However, most gynecological cysts are normal physiological phenomena and do not require special treatment.

Simple gynecological cysts, such as cervical Nabothian cysts, ovarian cysts, corpus luteum cysts, etc., are good lesions and rarely cause malignant transformation. Among them, cervical Nabothian cyst and corpus luteum cyst are physiological changes. Corpus luteum cyst will disappear automatically in the later stage and generally does not require special treatment. Cervical Nabothian cyst usually does not require treatment as long as there are no clinical symptoms. When the cyst is particularly large or numerous, physical therapy can be used, so it is generally not a big deal. Ovarian cysts are relatively common and may cause endocrine disorders, ovarian aging, malignancy, and even ovarian cancer. They should be taken seriously and require immediate surgical treatment. If it is an intramural cyst of the uterus, it is mostly caused by endometriosis or adenomyosis, and the specific manifestations are menstrual pain or menorrhagia. It can be treated surgically, so patients do not need to worry too much.

During the treatment period of gynecological cysts, couples should refrain from sexual intercourse. In addition, they should pay attention to daily cleaning, eat a light diet, and have regular check-ups to observe the condition of the cyst.
