What are the conditions that make pregnant women more likely to have premature births?

For pregnant women, they must take good care of their bodies, which is beneficial to the normal growth and development of the fetus. When the fetus is ten months old in the belly, every organ of the body has been fully developed and can then come into the world healthy and healthy. However, there are many premature babies in daily life. When these babies are born, their bodies are not yet fully developed. Therefore, pregnant women must prevent premature birth. Let’s discuss why pregnant women are prone to premature births.

1. Mom factor

Generally, pregnant women with uterine malformations, such as bicornuate uterus, unicornuate uterus, didelphys, uterine septum and other congenital malformations, are prone to premature births. Because the uterus is the area where the fetus develops, if the muscles of the uterus cannot flex and stretch well, premature births are likely to occur. Congenital cervical hypoplasia, or acquired cervical damage due to childbirth, miscarriage or surgical operation, relaxation of the internal cervical os, and protrusion of the amniotic sac into the cervical canal can all cause placental abruption and premature birth.

2 Pregnancy complications

During pregnancy, if the mother suffers from acute infectious diseases such as rubella, influenza, acute infectious hepatitis, acute pyelonephritis, acute cholecystitis, acute appendicitis, pregnancy-induced hypertension, heart disease, etc., these diseases are also very likely to cause premature births. In addition, the mother's endocrine imbalance, such as insufficient progesterone or estrogen, severe hyperthyroidism, diabetes, etc.; pregnant women with a history of trauma and surgery may have insufficient tissue oxygen due to stress and high blood pressure, and insufficient oxygen production in the uterus and embryo; pregnant women with malnutrition, severe anemia, especially protein deficiency and lack of vitamin E and folic acid; embryo abnormalities, and the fetal umbilical cord is too thick, too short, twisted, or tied, etc., all of which are causes of premature birth.

3 Fetal factors

Twins and malformed fetuses are factors that are very likely to cause premature births.

Compared with full-term babies, premature babies cannot adapt to the external natural environment. Compared with the pregnant woman's body, both the external temperature and the external natural environment are not conducive to the development of premature babies. However, the above reasons can easily lead to premature birth. Therefore, for pregnant women, in order to prevent premature birth, they should go to the hospital for regular check-ups.
