Is intrauterine adhesion surgery painful?

Intrauterine adhesion is a female disease, and there are many reasons for this condition. When intrauterine adhesion occurs, it is best for women to undergo surgery to resolve the symptoms. Many women are worried that the operation will be painful before undergoing the operation, and they are often filled with fear about the operation. In fact, when undergoing intrauterine adhesion surgery, general anesthesia will be used, and women can complete the operation without pain.

Is intrauterine adhesion surgery painful?

For general intrauterine adhesion surgery, we perform the operation under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia in the operating room through hysteroscopy. At this time, there may be pain only during anesthesia, especially spinal anesthesia. It may be a little painful the first time, but it will be fine afterwards. There will be no pain problem under general anesthesia, but there may be some lower abdominal discomfort and distension after the operation.

If the case is relatively simple and the patient is relatively young, the operation can be performed under ultrasound guidance in an outpatient clinic. At this time, the pain may be slightly greater, just like curettage, but it can be within the tolerable range.

1. Diet adjustment

After the operation, the patient can eat liquid food, avoid spicy and irritating food, and pay attention to the nutritional intake of food.

2. Exercise appropriately

If the patient is not particularly weak, he or she can do turning exercises under the guidance of medical staff 6 hours after the operation, get out of bed after three days, and increase the amount of exercise appropriately according to his or her physical condition, which will help the body's recovery.

3. Postoperative pain care

After the operation, patients will experience varying degrees of pain. If it is not particularly unbearable, try not to use medications. You can relax or divert your attention to get through it. If the pain is unbearable, tell your doctor and use some painkillers to relieve the pain.

4. Pay attention to urination after surgery

After surgery for intrauterine adhesions, the patient's urination must be observed. Family members or medical staff can supervise and assist in urination. If there is no urination, induction can be performed and catheterization can be performed if necessary.

5. Pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene

In order to prevent wound infection after surgery, the perineum must be cleaned and flushed with potassium permanganate solution twice a day or as instructed by the doctor to avoid retrograde infection in the uterine cavity.
