Cervical bleeding when touched by cotton swab

Cervical bleeding when touched by cotton swab

Gynecological diseases are diseases that trouble many women. When women suffer from gynecological diseases, it will have many adverse effects on their physical health. When a woman's cervix bleeds when touched with a cotton swab, women must pay great attention to it. There are many reasons that lead to this phenomenon. For example, women suffer from cervical polyps, vaginal wall injuries, cervical erosion, or even cervical cancer. When such a phenomenon occurs, women are best to go to the hospital for examination and treatment.

Cervical bleeding when touched by cotton swab

Normally, the cervix is composed of squamous epithelium and does not bleed when touched with a cotton swab. If the displacement of columnar epithelium is caused by high levels of estrogen stimulation and there is also obvious vaginal inflammation stimulation, it may cause cervical erosion and blood vessel exposure. At this time, bleeding may occur when touched with a cotton swab. Or in cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer, because the cervix has already been diseased, its increased fragility will cause obvious bleeding when touched by a cotton swab, and this bleeding is not easy to stop.

Causes of cervical bleeding

1. Vaginal wall abrasion

After menopause, older women may experience vaginal atrophy, loss of wrinkles and lack of elasticity, vaginal dryness, etc. If a couple does not use lubrication during intercourse, it may cause bleeding and pain for both parties.

2. Cervical polyps

Cervical polyps are mostly tongue-shaped, about the size of a sunflower seed, often protruding from the cervix, single or more than one, soft, and bright red. Polyps have loose tissue and thick blood vessels. When some polyps produce edema, gangrene, and contamination, their appearance is similar to early cervical cancer, which can easily cause bleeding in couples.

3. Cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is a common form of chronic cervicitis. The lymphocytes in the cervical erosion area are easily scattered and thinned. Therefore, some cervical erosion may also cause bleeding in couples, especially those with moderate and severe cervical erosion.

4. Cervical cancer

Couples bleeding is often a risk signal for early cervical cancer, with scant, bright red bleeding. But if you have early-stage cervical cancer, you may have increased bleeding or even blood clots. This is because the cancerous cervical tissue rots and decays and becomes fragile, except for blood in the affected area, so when the cervix is hit directly, it breaks down and causes bleeding.
