Second menstrual period after childbirth is like hemorrhage

Women will be able to resume menstruation some time after giving birth. There may be some abnormal phenomena during the first menstruation. Some women will have less menstrual flow, but some women will have a lot of menstruation after giving birth, like hemorrhage. So why is the second menstruation after giving birth like hemorrhage? Let's take a look.

What is the reason for the first menstrual period after childbirth to be like a hemorrhage?

1. If the menstrual flow is heavy after childbirth, it should be considered that the uterus is not recovering well. You can drink more brown sugar water to see if there is any improvement;

2. Continuous anovulation after childbirth causes excessive estrogen secretion from the ovaries, which leads to excessive stimulation of the endometrium, causing proliferation and thickening. Because the endometrium thickens, the amount of bleeding will increase accordingly when it is shed, so the first menstrual volume after childbirth increases;

3. It is related to kidney deficiency, which is caused by insufficient kidney qi. You can drink some Chinese medicine to stop the bleeding first, so as to avoid excessive blood loss which may lead to qi and blood deficiency, dizziness and fatigue.

When does the first menstrual period come after childbirth?

1. The onset of postpartum menstruation is related to whether or not the mother breastfeeds, the duration of breastfeeding, the mother's age and the ability of the mother to recover from ovarian function. It has no direct relationship with whether or not the mother had a caesarean section.

2. After childbirth, estrogen and progesterone levels drop sharply and return to normal after one week. The time for ovarian function to recover varies. On average, non-breastfeeding women resume menstruation 6-8 weeks after childbirth, and ovulation resumes about 10 weeks after childbirth. On average, breastfeeding women resume menstruation 4-6 months after childbirth, and ovulation may resume at the same time. Some women do not have menstruation during breastfeeding.

3. If your period still does not come after you stop breastfeeding, you need to go to the hospital for a detailed examination.
