There is a hard lump next to the labia majora

Every woman should take good care of her lower body hygiene, because the female vagina is a very fragile existence. In life, a little carelessness can easily cause vaginal diseases. The more common vaginal diseases include candidal vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, etc. Many women have found that a hard lump has inexplicably grown next to their labia majora. What is the cause of this?

1. If a large hard lump grows on the labia majora, it is likely caused by a Bartholin's gland cyst. This is mainly because long-term vulvar inflammation causes blockage of the Bartholin's gland ducts, making it impossible for the fluid in the Bartholin's glands to flow out, and over time a cyst is formed. Cysts are painless unless they are infected, but can become extremely painful if they are infected. Bartholin's gland cyst can be treated surgically. Currently, the most commonly used surgery is window surgery, which will prevent recurrence. If infection occurs, in addition to using antibiotics, if suppuration occurs, you can do an incision and drainage, and go to the hospital to change the dressing once a day to ensure that there is no further infection and the infection will not spread.

2. If the hard bag grows on the inner side of the labia minora, has a regular shape but protrudes from the surface like a burr, it is usually caused by inflammation or infection with fungi, bacteria, or trichomoniasis. At this time, you should go to the hospital to have the secretions tested. If it is a bacterial infection, use erythromycin ointment or bacterial vaginitis medicine for symptomatic treatment. If it is a fungal infection, you can also apply clotrimazole ointment while treating the fungus. If the small bumps are like blisters and are caused by herpes, you need antiviral treatment, usually applying acyclovir ointment externally. Therefore, if bumps grow on the inner side of the labia minora, you should go to the hospital for appropriate examinations. Because gynecology is a relatively specialized field, you must determine the cause based on the examination results in order to provide symptomatic treatment.

3. It may be caused by local inflammatory stimulation. You can apply Bactroban ointment after local iodine disinfection. Wash the vulva with warm water every day, change your cotton underwear every day, keep the vulva dry and clean, and avoid spicy and irritating foods. If necessary, you can go to the hospital's gynecology department for a clear diagnosis and timely treatment to avoid delaying the disease.
