Why is the hair below white?

Vulvar leukoplakia refers to localized or diffuse white patches that appear on the skin of women's genitals, which can spread to the inner sides of the lower limbs, perineum and anus, but rarely invade the urethral opening and vestibule.

The causes of whitening of the vulva are related to changes in the internal environment, including endocrine disorders, functional disharmony between the liver, spleen and kidneys, and repeated infiltration of local inflammation of the vulva. Therefore, do not overwork yourself, ensure sleep, adjust your mood, and enhance immunity.

1. Lichen sclerosus dystrophy: It can occur at any age, including girls under 10 years old, but is more common in women around 40 years old. The main symptom is itching in the affected area, but it is generally much milder than in proliferative lesions, and sexual intercourse becomes difficult in the late stage.

2. Hyperplastic malnutrition: generally occurs in women aged 30 to 60. The main symptoms are unbearable itching of the vulva, accompanied by local pain after scratching. The range of the lesions varies, mainly affecting the labia majora, interlabial groove, clitoral hood and posterior symphysis, and is often symmetrical.

3. Hyperplastic or mixed type with epithelial atypical hyperplasia: It is generally believed that in hyperplastic and mixed lesions, atypical hyperplasia may occur in only 5 or 10% of cases, and this atypical hyperplasia is limited to the hyperplastic epithelial cell part. Atypical hyperplasia often has no special clinical manifestations, and local tissue biopsy is the only diagnostic method.

1. Vulvar infection and inflammatory stimulation: This is the main cause of vulvar leukoplakia, accounting for about 50% of patients. There are many factors that cause vulvar infection and inflammatory irritation, such as poor hygiene habits, wearing synthetic underwear, unclean sanitary products, bathing in a bathhouse, swimming in a bathhouse, etc., which lead to vaginal inflammation. If not treated in time, the inflammatory secretions will infiltrate the perineum, and long-term infection and irritation will damage the skin and mucous membranes, causing redness, swelling, ulcers and degeneration, which will gradually develop into vulvar leukoplakia.

2. Endocrine disorders: Endocrine diseases are caused by pathological changes in the endocrine glands and tissues themselves, or by endocrine disorders due to genetics, enzyme defects, immune function and other reasons. Through the determination of tritium (H3) labeled thymidine, it is believed that there is a protein hormone in the dermis that can inhibit the division and growth of epidermal cells and only acts locally on the epidermis with tissue specificity, called inhibin. It causes an imbalance between local connective tissue hyperplasia and the stimulation of epidermal metabolism at that location, leading to vulvar leukoplakia.

Genetic factors: Approximately 10-30% of patients with vulvar leukoplakia have genetic factors. It is caused by genetics. The genetically caused vulvar leukoplakia is mainly atrophic type, and the patients are mainly young girls. In clinical practice, the first thing to pay attention to for patients under 15 years old is genetic factors, and inquire whether there are patients with vulvar leukoplakia in their parents' family.
