What is the cause of goldfish losing its fin? How to remedy the situation?

As people's quality of life improves, more and more people like to keep pets at home, and goldfish has become the first choice for most people because of its small size. So what is the matter with goldfish losing their swim bladder? How to remedy the situation? The following editor will explain them one by one, hoping to help you.

What happened to the goldfish?

The size of the fish bladder is different at different temperatures. The density in cold water is different from that in the original goldfish. When the fish bladder is suddenly exposed to cold in a short period of time, the volume of the fish bladder will also increase, so the goldfish will easily float up under the action of the swim bladder. The reason why the water temperature causes the temperature difference problem is that novices are prone to this problem. The sudden change of water temperature during the water change process causes the goldfish to lose its swim bladder.

In addition, some fish lose their swim bladders due to poisoning. This is often because the ammonia content in the water is too high. The fish's tolerance to ammonia nitrogen is relatively low, so the fish cannot excrete the ammonia in their bodies, which eventually leads to ammonia accumulation and poisoning in the goldfish's body. Another reason is drug poisoning. Daily excessive use of drugs can lead to organ failure or digestive dysfunction.

How to remedy a goldfish losing its swim bladder

1. Purchase artificial feed developed specifically for goldfish to prevent nutritional imbalance.

2. Try to choose thin flake feed. This type of feed has strong water absorption and is not easy to expand again in the goldfish's intestines and cause constipation.

3. Don’t rush to feed artificial feed to newly purchased goldfish. Feed some fresh Daphnia at the beginning, and wait for a week until the goldfish adapt to the new environment and recover, then start feeding a small amount of artificial feed.

4. It is best to feed goldfish with live bait and artificial feed alternately, and intersperse with green feed.

5. Feed the fish in small amounts and observe the fish's feces frequently. If there is no feces or white feces appears, stop feeding for a few days.

6. In a sunny place, goldfish can nibble on the moss attached to the wall of the tank. In an aquarium, plant feed patches can be placed on the wall of the tank for goldfish to nibble on.

How to Keep Goldfish Well

1. The number of goldfish to be raised depends on the size of the goldfish tank. Generally, an 80x50 fish tank can hold 3 to 5 goldfish. A large tank can hold 3 goldfish.

2. When choosing goldfish, you should choose vigorous ones without spots. In addition, goldfish should be classified and raised.

3. Do not mix goldfish raised at different times together. For example, if you originally had 5 goldfish and two of them died, adding two more is not acceptable. You can only raise three.

4. Feed once a day, preferably at noon, at regular times every day, and in appropriate amounts. Each fish should not be fed more than one gram of feed.

5. If the water turns yellow or black, you need to change the water. It is best to let the tap water settle for more than an hour. For a goldfish tank of the above specifications, you should put 2 taels of sea salt into the clean water, and also add anti-inflammatory and bactericidal drugs into the clean water.

6. The goldfish tank needs to be continuously circulated day and night to pump, filter and supply oxygen (the pump provides oxygen).
