Symptoms of vulvar furuncle

Symptoms of vulvar furuncle

For women, since their genitals are more fragile than men's, the probability of suffering from some genital diseases is relatively higher. Therefore, every woman should take good care of her lower body and try to keep it dry and hygienic, so as to effectively prevent the occurrence of lower body diseases. For example, vulvar furuncle is a relatively serious vulvar problem. So what are the symptoms of this problem?

1. Most of the furuncles in the vulva will occur on the outside of the labia majora. Once this disease occurs, it often leads to swelling of the inguinal lymph nodes and even fever throughout the body. This is caused by the inflammatory reaction of the furuncle. Once this happens, you should seek medical attention in time.

2. When vulvar furuncle just starts, red spots, pain, and hardness will appear on the hair follicles of the vulvar skin. The affected area will be slightly higher than the surrounding skin, and then gradually increase in size to form a round purple-red nodule. If you pinch this lump with your hand, you will feel pain.

3. Patients with vulvar furuncle will experience enlarged inguinal lymph nodes and obvious tenderness. As the disease progresses, the pain will gradually intensify, and then the center of the nodule will slowly soften, and the surface skin will become thinner and fluctuate. At this time, a yellow-white spot appears at the top of the center of the boil, which soon breaks. After the pus is discharged, the pain is immediately relieved and the surrounding redness and swelling also subsides, and it eventually heals to form scar tissue.

4. Multiple vulvar furunculosis often causes severe pain in the affected area, and may even greatly affect work and rest.

Causes and examination methods of vulvar furuncle

1. Causes

Because the vulva is moist and sweaty, the skin is easily damaged by friction, and bacteria invade through this to cause boils. In addition, people with vitamin deficiency, vulvovaginitis, diabetes, nephritis, long-term use of glucocorticoids, and low immune function are all prone to the disease; patients with vulvar pruritus and those who do not pay attention to cleaning the vulva are also prone to infection.

Pathogenesis

Most Staphylococcus aureus can produce coagulase, hemolysin, enterotoxin and exfoliative toxin. They have strong resistance to external factors and can survive for several months in a dry environment. They can only be killed by heating at 80℃ for 30 minutes. Staphylococcus aureus is highly toxic and often forms abscesses locally. Inflammation may also extend to the subcutaneous tissue.

Examination of vulvar furuncle

1. White blood cell count

When blood is centrifuged, the surface layer is grayish white, and the cells in this part are called white blood cells. It is a general term for a group of heterogeneous mixed cells with different morphologies, functions, and stages of development and differentiation. It is divided into three categories: granulocytes, lymphocytes, and monocytes based on their morphology, function, and origin. Judging the clinical significance only by white blood cell count has certain limitations, and the condition should be analyzed in combination with white blood cell differential count for more accurate analysis.

2. Neutrophil count (NEUT)

Neutrophils are an important component of the human defense system and are related to the body's nonspecific anti-infection process. This type of cell has a powerful phagocytic and bactericidal function. Its action process undergoes chemotaxis, identifies and binds to phagocytic substances, and then ingests them into the cell, ultimately killing and degrading pathogens.

3. Drug sensitivity test

Drug sensitivity testing is to measure the drug sensitivity of patients so that drugs can be used accurately and effectively for treatment.
