Standards for uterine development in girls

After a girl is born, her uterus, cervix and myometrium are all in a state of growth. A girl's childhood is from 4 weeks to 12 years old, and her body is in a state of development. During this period, more attention should be paid to the child's health and hygiene as well as personal physical safety. The uterus of girls entering puberty begins to develop gradually.

What are the standards for uterine development in girls?

Medically, the period from 4 weeks after birth to 12 years old is called childhood. Although the body is developing during childhood, the girl's reproductive organs are still in a childish state. The uterus is relatively small, the cervix is relatively long, accounting for about 2/3 of the total length of the uterus, the uterine muscle layer is also very thin, and the ovaries are long and narrow. Although the follicles can grow in large numbers, they will atrophy and degenerate if they are only poorly developed. There is no clear standard normal value in clinical practice. We must combine the specific clinical situation to know whether the uterine development is normal. Generally, 10-18 years old is the development period. Due to different ages, the time period of uterine development is also different.

"After puberty, the uterus of a girl is slightly flattened front and back and inverted pear-shaped, weighing about 50 grams. For a girl who has not given birth, it is about 7-8 cm long, 4-5 cm wide, 2-3 cm thick, and has a capacity of about 5 ml. The uterus is divided into two parts: the uterine body and the cervix. The uterine cavity is an inverted triangle, about 6 cm deep. The two upper corners are the uterine horns leading to the fallopian tubes, and the lower end is narrow and called the isthmus, about one centimeter long. The isthmus gradually expands during pregnancy and forms the lower uterine segment during labor, which can be stretched from one centimeter in the non-pregnant period to seven centimeters. The uterus is smaller before puberty, and is only a trace in childhood. The ratio of the uterine body to the cervix varies with age, 1:2 in girls, 2:1 in adult women, and 1:1 in the elderly. After menopause, the uterus gradually shrinks and becomes smaller. The uterus is the organ where women produce menstruation and nurture the fetus. The size of the uterus is related to age and fertility status."

Children's precocious puberty needs to be treated according to the cause. The specific causes and treatments are as follows: 1. Central precocious puberty: refers to diseases in the central parts, usually the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, which induce increased release of central gonadotropin, stimulate testicular development in boys, and ovarian and uterine development in girls. It is more harmful and should be treated early. GnRH analogs are usually injected once a month. If the disease cannot be controlled, injections are required once every 3 weeks. Later, the blood sex hormone level is tested to see whether it meets the standards; 2. Peripheral precocious puberty: precocious puberty caused by lesions in non-central parts of the body. Precocious puberty caused by factors such as adrenal disease or tumors can be treated with Chinese medicine.
