What are the effects of vasectomy on women?

What are the effects of vasectomy on women?

There are many ways to prevent pregnancy. If you want permanent contraception, many people will choose sterilization. Of course, although sterilization can effectively and permanently prevent pregnancy, it actually causes certain harm to women's bodies. For example, it can cause symptoms such as infection, bleeding, pelvic pain, and menstrual changes. In severe cases, it can directly affect women's mental health!

1. Infection

Depending on the location of the infection, it can be divided into two types: pelvic infection and abdominal wall incision infection. In the early stages of abdominal wall incision infection, patients will experience local redness, swelling and pain, accompanied by fever. There will also be purulent secretions in the wound, and a mass with unclear boundaries can be felt on the abdominal wall.

Bleeding

This situation is generally caused by incomplete hemostasis during the ligation operation, due to failure to detect it in time or failure to find abnormalities in the patient's coagulation function before the operation.

3. Pelvic pain

If the patient has a pelvic infection after a vasectomy and if it is not treated thoroughly, it may lead to chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, or if the patient has suffered from pelvic inflammatory disease before the operation, he or she may have symptoms of pelvic pain.

4. Menstrual changes

Menstrual changes may be related to the patient's physiological state before the operation, such as the patient's older age after the examination or abortion, and it may also be related to the surgical method. The specific manifestations of menstrual changes in patients are irregular menstruation or excessive menstruation. Patients should receive symptomatic treatment after the cause is identified.

5. Mental illness

Women will experience the following emotional changes after tubal ligation: tension and anxiety, irritability and frequent temper tantrums, and memory loss. There is a pessimistic and melancholic mood, manifested as depressed thoughts, silence, low mood, accompanied by poor appetite, weight loss, decreased libido, increased heart rate and other symptoms.

Some patients have great concerns about surgery before the operation, and may have doubts or fears. Some patients already suffer from neurological diseases and are prone to abnormal mental and physical symptoms after the operation. Generally, there will be no corresponding organic lesions of the organs.
