What causes fungal vaginitis?

Vaginitis is a common gynecological disease among women. There are many types of vaginitis. Candidal vaginitis and fungal vaginitis are particularly common vaginitis diseases. In life, many women suffer from fungal vaginitis. Since vaginitis is prone to recurring, it is difficult to cure. In order to cure fungal vaginitis, it is necessary to find out the cause and actively cooperate with the doctor for symptomatic treatment.

What causes fungal vaginitis?

Vaginal fungal infection, also known as Candida infection, is a vaginal inflammation caused by Candida albicans. Candida albicans is a fungus that mostly grows in the form of thick-walled spores without growth and reproduction and has no pathogenic effect. If our resistance is reduced or the local relief of the vagina changes, Candida will reproduce in large numbers, so fungi are conditionally pathogenic bacteria.

Vaginal fungal infections in women may be caused by the widespread use of antibiotics, which has significantly increased the incidence of Candida vulvovaginal itching. The normal vaginal environment needs to rely on lactobacillus as the main regulator of the normal vaginal flora to maintain balance. Frequent or long-term use of antibiotics will destroy the normal vaginal ecological balance, causing flora imbalance in women, leading to excessive growth of Candida and ultimately causing the disease.

Hormonal changes within the reproductive tract can also lead to fungal infections in women. Estrogen and progesterone secreted by the ovaries can affect the pH value in the vagina, which will affect the germination, protease, colony transformation and ultimately the onset of disease of Candida alba. For example, during pregnancy, under the action of large amounts of estrogen, the sugar content of the vaginal epithelium is high and the secretions increase, which is conducive to the growth and reproduction of fungi. Therefore, the incidence of fungal vaginal itching in pregnant women is relatively high.

If you find that you have a vaginal fungal infection, you should seek treatment for the disease in time so that the problem can be controlled as early as possible. At the same time, you should also pay attention to your personal hygiene to avoid worsening vaginal fungal infections in women.
