Pregnant women always feel thirsty

Pregnant women always feel thirsty

Pregnant women always feel very thirsty and feel hot during pregnancy. This is caused by endocrine disorders in pregnant women. The body sweats a lot and metabolizes heat quickly, so water will evaporate. At this time, thirst will occur. Hydration, blood volume, and low blood pressure are all causes of thirst. Pregnant women should have scientific hydration and should not drink large amounts of cold water or beverages when they are thirsty.

Why do pregnant women feel thirsty during pregnancy?

1. Hydration

Pregnant women will urinate more frequently during pregnancy, no matter what stage they are in. In early pregnancy, thirst is your body's way of telling you that you and your baby need more fluids. The extra fluid will help the kidneys excrete excess water from the body, including the water produced by the pregnant woman's own body.

2. Blood volume

Excessive thirst during pregnancy is a common response to the increased blood volume in pregnant women. During pregnancy, the volume of blood in a woman's body increases significantly - typically by 40%. Therefore a pregnant woman may feel that she needs to drink more water to regulate the extra blood. The extra blood helps you deliver oxygen and nutrients to your baby during pregnancy. Water plays a very important role in the growth and development of new cells.

3. Low blood pressure

Unusual thirst can be a sign of low blood pressure in pregnant women, but it can also be a sign of other symptoms. Other symptoms include lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting, blurred vision, nausea, cool skin, paleness, rapid but shallow breathing, and easy fatigue.

How to drink water scientifically for pregnant women

1. Do not drink water that has been boiled for a long time or repeatedly boiled, such as water in a large boiler. Because after repeated boiling, the concentration of harmful substances such as silver nitrite, nitrite ions and arsenic in the water increases relatively. Drinking water that has been boiled for a long time will cause the low-iron hemoglobin in the blood to combine into high-iron hemoglobin that cannot carry oxygen, thus causing blood poisoning.

2. Pregnant women should never drink unboiled tap water, because the chlorine in the tap water will interact with the organic matter remaining in the water to produce a carcinogen called "trihydroxy".

3. Pregnant women should not drink tea brewed in a thermos cup, because tea contains a large amount of tannic acid, theanine, essential oils and multiple vitamins. If tea leaves are soaked in water in a thermos cup, many vitamins will be destroyed and the nutrition will be reduced. The tea will become bitter and contain more harmful substances. Drinking it will cause disorders of the digestive and nervous systems.

It is normal to feel thirsty during pregnancy. There is no need to worry too much. Just make sure to replenish water in time. However, there are also some cases where it is due to physical conditions, such as low blood pressure, and you must seek medical attention in time to avoid affecting the health of the pregnant woman and fetus. At the same time, pregnant women should also pay attention to scientific thinking when drinking water, and avoid drinking the three types of water mentioned above.
