What is the difference between ectopic pregnancy and intrauterine pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy and intrauterine pregnancy have two different symptoms. Ectopic pregnancy is abnormal and needs to be treated by abortion. Ectopic pregnancy is prone to threatened abortion. The main reason is that ectopic pregnancy is that the fertilized egg implants in the fallopian tube and does not develop in the uterus, which can cause abdominal pain in pregnant women. Intrauterine pregnancy is a normal way of conception, and we can observe the development of the fetus in the uterus.

What is the difference between an ectopic pregnancy and a normal pregnancy?

The differences between ectopic pregnancy and normal pregnancy are mainly manifested in the following points:

1. Abdominal pain: Normal intrauterine pregnancy will not cause abdominal pain. If abdominal pain occurs, it may be a sign of threatened abortion. Abdominal pain is mostly dull pain in the lower abdomen and may be accompanied by soreness and swelling in the waist. The abdominal pain caused by ectopic pregnancy is often the main symptom when the fallopian tube pregnancy is destroyed. It is often sudden tearing or paroxysmal pain on one side of the lower abdomen, accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Stimulation of the diaphragm can cause radiating pain in the shoulder blades. When fluid accumulates in the pelvic cavity, there will be a feeling of heaviness and defecation in the anus.

2. Location of pregnancy: Intrauterine pregnancy refers to the embryo being implanted in the uterine cavity after a woman becomes pregnant. An ectopic pregnancy refers to the implantation of a fertilized egg outside the uterine cavity, which is also known as an ectopic pregnancy in medicine. The most common site of ectopic pregnancy is the fallopian tube, and a few can also be seen in the ovaries, cervix, etc.

3. Vaginal bleeding: Normal intrauterine pregnancy will not cause vaginal bleeding. Ectopic pregnancy causes irregular bleeding after a short period of amenorrhea, which is spot-like, dark brown, and small in amount. The embryonic tissue is damaged, the hormone level decreases, the endometrium is detached, or the fallopian tube bleeds, and the blood flows out of the uterine cavity into the vagina.

Experts say that ectopic pregnancy is a relatively dangerous emergency in gynecology. Women with ectopic pregnancy will often feel abdominal pain and irregular vaginal bleeding, which is very harmful to women's bodies. If female friends experience this symptom, they should pay attention to it and seek medical attention in time to avoid danger due to excessive bleeding.

What are the causes of ectopic pregnancy?

Causes of ectopic pregnancy:

1. Fallopian tube inflammation. It can be divided into tubal mucositis and perisalpingitis, both of which are common causes of tubal pregnancy. In severe cases, fallopian tube mucositis can cause complete obstruction of the tube lumen and lead to infertility. In mild cases, the fallopian tube mucosa will be adhered and the cilia will be damaged, which will affect the movement of the fertilized egg and cause it to implant there. Salpingitis caused by gonorrhea and Chlamydia trachomatis often involves the mucosa, while infection after abortion or delivery often causes perisalpingitis.

2. Fallopian tube surgery. If tubal recanalization or fistula occurs after tubal sterilization, it may lead to tubal pregnancy, especially laparoscopic electrocoagulation tubal sterilization and silicone ring surgery. For women who have undergone tubal separation and adhesion surgery or tuboplasty due to infertility, such as tubal anastomosis and tubal opening, the incidence of subsequent tubal pregnancy is 10% to 20%.

3. Hypoplasia or dysfunction of the fallopian tube. Tubal dysplasia is often manifested as an overly long fallopian tube, poorly developed muscularis, and a lack of mucociliary tissue. Other causes include double fallopian tubes, diverticulum or accessory fimbria, which can all be causes of fallopian tube pregnancy. If the secretion of estrogen and progesterone is abnormal, it may affect the normal operation of the fertilized egg. In addition, mental factors can also cause fallopian tube spasms and abnormal peristalsis, interfering with the transportation of fertilized eggs.
