Is breast pain caused by pregnancy or menstruation?

Getting married and having children is a very happy thing, and it is a process that every girl has to go through. Due to lack of understanding of the symptoms of early pregnancy, pregnancy was not discovered in time, resulting in miscarriage. The more common symptoms in early pregnancy are amenorrhea, nausea, vomiting, etc. Another common symptom is breast pain. Everyone knows that there will be chest pain before menstruation, and sometimes the two are confused, resulting in difficulty in distinguishing whether the chest pain is caused by pregnancy or menstruation.

Will breast swelling be a symptom of early pregnancy?

Breast tenderness is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy, usually starting around 4 to 6 weeks and lasting throughout the early stages of pregnancy (the first 3 months of pregnancy). Generally, you can feel breast swelling one month after pregnancy, but not every pregnant woman will experience pain. After pregnancy, under the joint stimulation of estrogen and progesterone, at the beginning of pregnancy, the breasts gradually grow larger, the color of the nipples and areola deepens, and dark brown nodules appear around the nipples. After 12 weeks, a small amount of clear milk will be secreted.

Generally, after about 40 days, menstruation stops, breasts develop, nipples enlarge, subcutaneous veins become obvious, and breasts may feel tingling, swelling and itching. The nipples and areolas become darker in color. Later, you will gradually feel tired, sleepy, dizzy, nauseous, vomiting, loss of appetite, picky eating, preference for sour food, fear of greasy smells, increased saliva secretion, and often feel nauseous and vomiting.

Breast pain in early pregnancy is mainly due to increased hormone levels in the body, thickening of the fat layer, and blood filling the mammary glands, which causes the breasts to become swollen and sensitive. Breast enlargement is a preparation for future breastfeeding. Breast tenderness usually occurs in the early stages of pregnancy. As the body's hormone levels stabilize, the duration of breast tenderness will gradually decrease. As the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the body of pregnant women increases, they will experience a series of symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and aversion to oil, which we call early pregnancy reactions. The time when early pregnancy reactions appear and when they stop are closely related to hCG. So, will your breasts always feel uncomfortable in the early stages of pregnancy? In fact, breast pain is one of the signs of pregnancy.

The body will experience a series of reactions after pregnancy. This is mainly because the changes in the pregnant woman's body are to allow the fetus to grow better and to prepare for the breastfeeding period after the fetus is born. Therefore, pregnant women should pay attention to adequate rest during pregnancy, and also pay attention to supplementing their nutrition.

Symptoms of the first three months of pregnancy

The body will show some symptoms in the first three months of pregnancy, and people guess that they are pregnant based on these symptoms. Many people are not quite sure whether they are really pregnant or falsely pregnant. It would be more helpful for them to judge whether they are pregnant if they can understand its symptoms. So, what are the symptoms of the first three months of pregnancy?

1. Menstruation stops. If you have had sex during the ovulation period and did not take any contraceptive measures, and your menstrual cycle is normal, but your menstruation is late or stops, as long as the menstruation stops for more than 10 days, you may be pregnant and you might as well take an early pregnancy test.

2. Nausea and vomiting. Pregnant women are prone to morning sickness starting from the sixth week of pregnancy, especially nausea and vomiting when they just wake up in the morning. These nausea and vomiting symptoms usually stop in the third month.

3. The breasts are enlarged and tender. About half a month into pregnancy, women can clearly feel their breasts becoming larger and softer. This is mainly because the secretion of estrogen and progesterone causes changes in the size and softness of the breasts.

There will be more examination items during the three months of pregnancy, such as measuring height, weight, blood pressure, the doctor asking about physical condition, B-ultrasound, urine test, blood test, uterine size, whether the fetus has malformations, fetal nuchal translucency examination, thalassemia gene screening, etc. Among them, thalassemia gene screening can detect whether there is a thalassemia gene by doing a routine blood test. If the result is positive, further genetic screening is required.
