The medication is so painful

The medication is so painful

In modern society, the number of women experiencing unexpected pregnancies is increasing. After an unexpected pregnancy occurs, most women choose to have an artificial abortion to get rid of the baby in their belly. Among them, medical abortion is a method of abortion that women who are pregnant within 49 days can choose. Because medical abortion eliminates the need for surgery, it is relatively convenient compared to surgical abortion. But what should I do if the abortion is very painful?

If you take oral medication to induce abortion, the cervix will open wider after uterine contractions occur, allowing the embryo to be expelled. There will definitely be pain during uterine contractions, cervical dilation and embryo expulsion.

The degree of pain from medical abortion depends on each person's tolerance. Some people have very poor tolerance to pain, so the pain is very obvious. After the embryo is discharged, the pain will quickly decrease and disappear.

After the embryo is discharged, the uterine contractions and vaginal bleeding should be closely observed. If the amount of bleeding is not much, it can be observed for three days. Three days after the medical abortion, the color ultrasound should be checked again to determine whether there is any residual embryonic tissue in the uterine cavity, and the uterus should be cleaned up in time if necessary.

Medical abortion mainly involves choosing mifepristone tablets and misoprostol tablets for medical abortion, thereby artificially terminating pregnancy. This process requires the uterus to contract, soften the cervix, and promote the killing and expulsion of the embryo. Of course, it will cause pain to the patient, but this pain is tolerable. When taking the last three tablets of misoprostol, you need to go to the hospital for observation for six hours to see whether the white gestational sac tissue is discharged. If it is not completely discharged, the medical abortion has failed and uterine curettage is needed.

Will medical abortion fail? Beware of incomplete abortion

Before choosing to have a medical abortion, you must be alert to the phenomenon of incomplete abortion. Don't ever think that medical abortion is as simple as taking two pills and that "everything will be fine" after taking them. Medical abortion drugs are prescription drugs. Before having an abortion, you must go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination to confirm the intrauterine pregnancy and gestational age. The doctor will evaluate the feasibility and safety of the drugs and prescribe the drugs.

There is a possibility of incomplete medical abortion. Sometimes the embryo is discharged into the toilet along with vaginal bleeding, and it is difficult to judge whether the embryo is discharged and whether there are the necessary villi in it. If the medical abortion is incomplete, the woman will need to undergo a uterine curettage, which is equivalent to having another abortion and suffering twice.

It is relatively rare for medical abortion to cause heavy bleeding. If there is heavy bleeding after medical abortion, it is most likely because the medical abortion was not clean, resulting in incomplete miscarriage. The embryonic products of pregnancy remain in the uterine cavity, causing poor uterine contraction and thus causing heavy bleeding. If the medical abortion is incomplete or there is infection after the abortion, surgical curettage is required. Uterine curettage itself can cause trauma. If it is excessive, it may damage the basal layer of the uterus and bring the risk of intrauterine adhesions. Once adhesions occur in the uterine cavity, it may lead to infertility, amenorrhea, decreased menstrual flow, or chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, all of which are very troublesome and dangerous.
