What are the symptoms of advanced endometrial cancer?

Endometrial cancer is a common gynecological disease in women. Late-stage endometrial cancer can easily cause abdominal pain or neuralgia in the lumbar region, as well as coughing up blood, dizziness, and nausea. It can also easily lead to infection, which has a great impact on the health of the body.

What are the symptoms of advanced endometrial cancer?

In the late stage of endometrial cancer, if it invades the myometrium, it can cause pain in the lower abdomen. If the nerves in the lumbar region are compressed, it will cause soreness and swelling in the lumbar region or radiating pain in the lower limbs. If metastasis occurs to the ovaries, a mass may be felt in the pelvic cavity. If the ureter is compressed, it will cause swelling and pain in the waist. If lung metastasis occurs, coughing and hemoptysis may occur. If brain metastasis occurs, dizziness, headache, and even nausea and vomiting may occur.

If endometrial cancer develops to the late stage, it will include the following symptoms: First, severe lower abdominal pain. In the late stage of endometrial cancer, due to the local spread of cancer cells, it will affect the pelvic floor and uterine fundus ligaments, causing more severe cancer pain. Second, in the late stages of endometrial cancer, a large amount of endometrial-like, foul-smelling tissue will flow out of the vagina, often accompanied by infection. Third, advanced endometrial cancer is often accompanied by advanced metastasis, such as liver metastasis, lung metastasis or brain metastasis.

Endometrial cancer occurs in the body of the uterus. In the late stage, the main symptoms include bloody leucorrhea, irregular vaginal bleeding, pain, swelling and pain in the lower limbs, systemic symptoms and urinary tract obstruction.

(1) Bloody and purulent leucorrhea: Abnormal leucorrhea is one of the main manifestations of endometrial cancer. In the early stage, there may be only a small amount of bloody leucorrhea, but as the disease worsens, infection and necrosis may occur in the later stage, resulting in the discharge of a large amount of foul-smelling bloody and purulent fluid. Sometimes the discharge contains small pieces of cancerous tissue.

(ii) Irregular vaginal bleeding: Irregular vaginal bleeding usually does not involve contact bleeding and is usually a small to moderate amount of bleeding. It is often manifested as continuous or intermittent vaginal bleeding. Late bleeding may be mixed with rotten meat-like tissue.

(III) Pain: Paroxysmal pain often occurs in the late stage of endometrial cancer. It is mainly caused by the cancer and its bleeding and the congestion of excretion, which stimulate the irregular contraction of the uterus. The cancer tissue penetrates the serosa or erodes the parauterine connective tissue, bladder, or straight or compresses other tissues, which can also cause pain. The pain is often stubborn and progressive, and often radiates from the lumbosacral region and lower abdomen to the thighs and knees.

(IV) Swelling and pain in the lower limbs: In the late stage, the tumor grows rapidly, and the patient can feel the enlarged uterus and adjacent tissues and organs in the lower abdomen, which may cause swelling and pain in the lower limb on that side.

(V) Systemic symptoms: The condition of advanced endometrial cancer deteriorates rapidly, and patients may experience anemia, weight loss, fever, abdominal pain, cachexia and other systemic manifestations.

(VI) Urinary tract obstruction: Tumor compression of the ureter can cause hydronephrosis or renal atrophy on one side of the patient, resulting in urinary tract obstruction and other related symptoms.
