Reference table of normal progesterone values during menstruation

During menstruation, women's hormones and various values will change to a certain extent. For example, the endometrium of women will be thicker before menstruation and thinner after menstruation. Progesterone will also change with the arrival of menstruation. Progesterone has a certain normal value. If it is within the normal range, it means there is no problem. If it is not within the normal range, it may be due to abnormal hormone secretion. So what is the normal value of progesterone during menstruation?

Progesterone, also known as progesterone hormone and luteinizing hormone, is the main biologically active progestin secreted by the ovaries. Before ovulation, the amount of progesterone produced per day is 2~3 mg, mainly from the ovaries.

The normal value of progesterone after ovulation is 20.8~103.0nmol/L (6.5~32.2ng/ml), 0.6~1.9nmol/L (0.2~0.6ng/ml) in the follicular phase, and 0.96~11.2nmol/L (0.3~3.5mg/ml) in the mid-luteal phase.

1. Look at the normal value. Generally speaking, the average progesterone content of women during pregnancy is 25ng/ml (80.3nmol/L). Because too low progesterone can cause miscarriage in pregnant women, if the progesterone value of pregnant women is ≥25ng/ml, it is normal. If the progesterone value is between 15~25ng/ml, it indicates luteal insufficiency and progesterone needs to be supplemented as soon as possible. The success rate of treatment is relatively high. If the progesterone value is ≤15ng/ml, the treatment is of little significance and the pregnancy should be terminated as soon as possible.

2. Inspection Report

The progesterone level of pregnant women tends to increase during pregnancy, so pregnant women can compare the data from two examination reports and the values obtained from self-tests with the normal values for the current stage. For example, the progesterone content in the examination report is 118.6±40.6nmol/L. By comparison, it can be inferred that the pregnancy period of this pregnant woman is about 9-12 weeks. If the latter time is higher than the previous one, it proves to be normal. If the latter time is lower than the previous one, it means that there may be certain problems in the development of the embryo, and it is best to do further examination.
