Is blood in the vagina a sign of cervical cancer?

Leucorrhea is also a private part that every woman should pay attention to, because if there is any problem with a woman's reproductive system, it will often be reflected in the leucorrhea. If there are signs of blood in the leucorrhea, this is an abnormal phenomenon and needs to be taken seriously. Many gynecological diseases can cause blood in leucorrhea. So is there any relationship between blood in leucorrhea and cervical cancer?

Does bloody vaginal discharge mean cancer?

If a woman's leucorrhea volume, color, quality, etc. changes occur, it is called abnormal leucorrhea. Abnormal leucorrhea may not be uncommon among female friends. The leucorrhea increases and contains blood. Once female friends see this situation, they often associate it with cervicitis. Bloody leucorrhea does not necessarily mean cancer. Bloody leucorrhea may be a common symptom of many diseases. It should be distinguished not only based on the nature, quantity, and color of the leucorrhea, but also analyzed in combination with the overall condition and local characteristics to make an accurate diagnosis and timely treatment.

How to judge abnormal leucorrhea

1. The leucorrhea is abnormally yellow. Light yellow leucorrhea is common in mycoplasma and chlamydia infections; dark yellow leucorrhea is caused by necrosis or degeneration of diseased tissue, and is common in subuterine fibroids, cervical cancer, uterine body cancer, and fallopian tube cancer.

2. Abnormal leucorrhea is purulent. The vaginal discharge is yellow or green and has a foul odor. This is generally caused by Trichomonas vaginitis or purulent bacterial infection. It is common in Trichomonas vaginitis, gonorrhea, chronic cervicitis, vaginal foreign bodies, etc.

3. Abnormal leucorrhea is like tofu dregs. It is unique to candidal vaginitis and is often accompanied by vulvar itching.

4. Abnormal leucorrhea is bloody. That is, there is blood mixed in the leucorrhea. If this kind of leucorrhea occurs, you should be alert to the possibility of malignant tumor. Such as cervical warts, cervical cancer, etc.

In fact, many vaginal diseases can be seen from leucorrhea. Bloody vaginal discharge is actually a symptom of many diseases, so bloody vaginal discharge does not necessarily mean cancer, but it does need to attract the attention of women. If you have abnormal leucorrhea, you should go to a regular gynecological hospital for examination to rule out the occurrence of cancer. Once the disease is diagnosed, it must be treated promptly.

What causes abnormal vaginal discharge?

Leucorrhea is a very normal physiological phenomenon in women. In recent years, more and more women have suffered from abnormal leucorrhea. For example, the color and texture of leucorrhea change. What causes this abnormality?

1. Inflammatory leucorrhea

Inflammatory leucorrhea, due to inflammation, will contain a large number of white blood cells. Most inflammatory leucorrhea is purulent, but because of the different infecting bacteria, the characteristics of leucorrhea also have some other obvious differences. When the leucorrhea is thin, pus-like, and contains foam, is yellow-green in color, and has a distinct fishy odor, this is mostly a Trichomonas infection; if the leucorrhea is abundant and thick, like white tofu dregs, or sometimes curd-like, this is mostly a fungal infection; if a woman suffers from chronic cervicitis or cervical erosion, the leucorrhea is generally mucopurulent; if there is purulent mucus in the cervix, and it is yellow and sticky, this is mostly a gonococcal infection, but further examination is needed to confirm the diagnosis.

2. Non-inflammatory leucorrhea

Non-inflammatory leucorrhea is more common in women with retroverted uterus, pelvic tumors, anemia, and weak constitution. In this case, the amount of leucorrhea secretion is large and egg white-like, often white watery secretions flow out of the vagina, and the wet underwear makes people feel uncomfortable.

3. Other causes

Foreign body stimulation and malignant tumors can cause abnormal vaginal discharge in women. Regardless of the situation, women need to pay special attention. Abnormal leucorrhea refers to changes in the properties of leucorrhea. There are many reasons for this change. In order to prevent the disease from further worsening or even affecting fertility, when women find abnormal leucorrhea, they must go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible.
