There are several situations in which bleeding occurs a few days after taking birth control pills. If you take combined short-acting contraceptives, generally after taking them for 21 days, in most cases you will have your period 2-3 days after stopping the medication, and it usually won't exceed 1 week; some women don't have bleeding after 1 week of stopping the medication because of unstable hormone levels in their bodies, but it does not affect the next cycle of treatment; if there is no bleeding after 7 days of stopping the medication, you can consider continuing to take the medication for the next cycle.
