How many days after caesarean section can I take a bath

With the advancement of medical technology, more and more women now choose to have a caesarean section. The cesarean section process is relatively smoother, but many women will have obvious scars on their abdomens after the operation, and the pain will be severe right after the operation. Also, be careful not to take a shower immediately after the cesarean section. So how many days after a caesarean section can you take a shower?

1. You can take a shower after a caesarean section, but you cannot take a shower immediately after giving birth. This is mainly because the wound after cesarean section is prone to infection, and when showering, the mother's standing posture and the pressure of water are particularly likely to cause wound infection. Therefore, it is best not to take a shower for a few days after cesarean section. In summer, it is generally 1 week after delivery, and in winter, within 2 weeks. You can take a shower depending on your physical recovery.

2. If the cesarean section wound recovers quickly, you can take a bath after 1 week; but the bathing time should not be too long, and the water temperature should not be too low to maintain body temperature, and the air in the bathroom should be circulating; and you can only take a shower, not a tub bath; after taking a bath, you must wipe off the water in time, put on clothes before coming out, and it is best to wrap your hair with a dry towel to avoid catching a cold in the wind.

3. Note that patients who have undergone caesarean section should wait until their strength is restored and their wounds are healed before taking a shower. Generally, they can take a sponge bath first. The room temperature and water temperature of the shower after cesarean section: pay attention to "protecting against cold in winter, heat in summer, and wind in spring and autumn". It should be 36-38 degrees in winter and around 37 degrees in summer. Don't be too cool in the summer, and don't be too hot in the winter. It is not advisable to sweat profusely when showering after a caesarean section. You should dry your body and hair in time after showering, and it is best to wrap your hair with a dry towel. Even if you feel hot all over after bathing, you should avoid exposure to drafts and it is best not to turn on the air conditioner. If your hair is not dry after taking a shower after a caesarean section, you cannot braid it and you cannot go to sleep with wet hair. You should not take a shower immediately after being hungry or full. If you feel hungry after taking a shower, you should eat something.
