What are the dangers of having an IUD inserted into a woman's vagina?

Nowadays, many women choose to use contraceptive rings. This method is indeed more convenient, but many people ignore the impact of women having rings. In most cases, women may experience some adverse reactions after using the contraceptive ring, but if this continues for a long time, the harm to women is still relatively large, and it is not ruled out that it will cause some serious diseases. So what are the dangers of women having rings?

1. Uterine damage

Cases of uterine injury include uterine perforation, local mechanical damage to the uterus, uterine membrane fibrosis, etc. Uterine perforation may be caused by improper operation by the doctor or the size of the uterus itself is not suitable for the placement of an intrauterine contraceptive device. Local mechanical damage to the uterus and uterine membrane fibrosis are caused by the long-term movement of the contraceptive ring in the uterus. At the same time, if the uterus is perforated and the IUD enters the abdominal cavity, it may also damage other internal organs.

2. Ectopic pregnancy

The IUD is present in the uterus, and its contraceptive effect is of course only limited to normal embryos that implant in the uterus. Once the embryo does not choose to implant in the uterus and "takes root" in other places such as the fallopian tube, it will cause an ectopic pregnancy. Although it is not directly caused by the IUD, women who have it installed often ignore the possibility of ectopic pregnancy.

3. Others

A small amount of bleeding in the short term after the placement of the ring is due to the abrasion of the endometrium when the contraceptive ring is placed. The bleeding usually lasts for a few days, and the amount of blood does not exceed the menstrual volume, so no treatment is required. If the ring is inserted in the second half of the menstrual cycle, bleeding may be more severe because the endometrium is in the secretory phase, the endometrium is thickened and rich in blood vessels. In addition, the contraceptive ring placed in the uterus is a "foreign body" to the uterus, especially when the ring is too large or positioned low. The uterus contracts to expel this "foreign body", causing uterine contraction pain, which is clinically manifested as lower abdominal pain and back pain. If there is excessive bleeding or severe abdominal pain or fever, go to the hospital for examination in time.
