Snacks for Pregnant Women

Snacks for Pregnant Women

After a woman enters pregnancy, her appetite will change greatly. Generally, women will stay at home to protect the fetus after becoming pregnant. When they are bored at home, they will want to eat some snacks. There are very few foods that pregnant women can eat, and many foods are not good for the growth and development of the fetus after eating. Therefore, women must choose foods with high nutritional value. So what are the snacks suitable for pregnant women?

Women are generally more greedy, especially pregnant women, who can't help but want to eat. In addition, having two lives in one body makes the burden even greater. Therefore, pregnant women can eat some snacks in addition to regular meals. This way, the expectant mother can satisfy her cravings while supplementing different nutrients for herself and the baby in her belly.

1. Whole wheat bread

Expectant mothers need to increase their food intake appropriately during pregnancy and eat when they are hungry.

Whole wheat bread can increase dietary fiber in the body and provide more comprehensive nutrition. Expectant mothers with constipation problems can try it as a snack.

2. Seaweed

Nori concentrates various B vitamins found in seaweed, especially riboflavin and niacin. It contains about 15% minerals, various trace elements and a large amount of minerals, which help maintain the acid-base balance in the human body. It is low in calories and high in fiber, making it a good snack for expectant mothers. But when choosing seaweed, you must choose low-sodium ones, especially for expectant mothers who have high blood pressure or edema during pregnancy, who should strictly limit their sodium intake.

3. Raisins

It can replenish qi and blood, promote diuresis and reduce swelling. Its iron content is very high, which can prevent expected anemia and edema. Although raisins are delicious, you should not eat too much of them, especially fat expectant mothers and those with gestational diabetes should never eat raisins.

4. Jujube

Jujubes have high nutritional value. Because it not only contains rich vitamin C, but also can supplement iron for expectant mothers, dates are a good snack during pregnancy. However, you can't eat too many dates, otherwise it will easily cause bloating in expectant mothers. Here I can tell expectant mothers that red dates can be made into red date porridge to drink.

5. Walnut

Walnut is a food with very high nutritional value. It is rich in vitamin E, linoleic acid and phospholipids, especially linoleic acid, which is important for promoting brain development. But expectant mothers should also note that walnuts are very high in fat. Eating too many will inevitably cause weight gain due to excessive calorie intake, which will in turn affect the normal blood sugar, blood lipids and blood pressure of pregnant women.

6. Figs

This is good stuff. It can strengthen the stomach and intestines, and also promote lactation. Rich in various vitamins, fructose, glucose, etc. It’s a great snack during pregnancy! Some mothers who suffer from constipation during pregnancy should eat more!

7. Yogurt

Yogurt contains probiotics, which can help expectant mothers regulate their stomachs. It is also rich in protein and is a good source of protein supplement. Moreover, yogurt is cool, refreshing and easy to digest and absorb.

8. Cheese

Cheese is the essence of "concentrated" milk. 1 kilogram of cheese products is concentrated from 10 kilograms of milk. It is rich in protein, B vitamins, calcium and a variety of trace nutrients that are beneficial for expectant mothers to absorb. The lactic acid bacteria in natural cheese helps the expectant mother's stomach and intestines absorb nutrients. Another very important point is that expectant mothers who are afraid of getting fat don’t have to worry about gaining weight by eating too much cheese!
