Is it normal to have blood on sight?

For pregnant women, the last thing they want to see is spotting, because in most cases spotting is a symptom of threatened miscarriage, so measures to preserve the fetus must be taken at this time. Because every pregnant woman has a different physical constitution, the symptoms she experiences after spotting are also different. Some pregnant women find that there is always blood after spotting. Is this a normal phenomenon?

Condition after seeing red

1. A small amount of redness

Under normal circumstances, female friends will experience a small amount of spotting around the due date. There will not necessarily be uterine contractions or water breaking after the occurrence of spotting, so there is no need to be too nervous. However, if the amniotic fluid breaks after spotting, or the uterine contractions become regular, you must be highly alert that the birth is imminent. If there is only a small amount of spotting without other symptoms, there is no need to worry too much, as the birth will take at least 24 to 48 hours! And normal spotting is usually bloody and mucous, not real blood. Generally, pink, brown and bloody mucus can be called spotting.

2. Spotting that exceeds menstrual flow

In general, the amount of spotting is very small. If there is a large amount of fresh blood, especially the amount of bleeding that can be compared with the menstrual flow, you must be highly vigilant. This kind of spotting is very abnormal, so you must go to the hospital in time to let the doctor treat it, because this situation mostly occurs in the symptoms of placenta previa and early placental abruption, and these two symptoms are relatively dangerous, so if there is a lot of bleeding, you must seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Does spotting mean there is always blood? Under normal circumstances, no. Spotting is just a little bit of discharge, and it is only bloody discharge, not fresh blood. However, labor will start 24 to 48 hours after spotting occurs. Therefore, if you experience spotting, you must rest, closely observe changes in your body, and be ready to go to the hospital for delivery at any time.
