The feeling of water breaking

Women are often nervous when their due date is approaching, because childbirth is something they particularly look forward to, and childbirth will be very painful, so women are both afraid and nervous. In fact, women have many symptoms when they are about to give birth. Generally, women will feel uterine contraction pain. When the uterine contraction pain reaches a certain level, the woman's amniotic fluid will rupture. So what does it feel like when the woman's amniotic fluid ruptures?

After the amniotic fluid breaks, the expectant mother can feel hot liquid flowing out of the vagina. The amniotic fluid is clear and more abundant than secretions, like water. The outflow of amniotic fluid is uncontrolled. If the amount is large, there will be a warm feeling. If the amount is small, it may feel a little wet, like urination, and the outflow is continuous, and even the expectant mother cannot control it by contracting her vagina.

Pay attention to the symptoms of urine leakage and water breaking:

When the fetus develops to a certain extent, the expectant mother's uterus will become larger, the bladder will be compressed, and the amount of urine stored will decrease. Many expectant mothers will experience frequent urination and occasional urine leakage. When standing or lifting heavy objects, you should pay attention to the difference between urinary incontinence and amniotic fluid rupture.

When the amniotic fluid breaks, it's like running water, which is totally uncontrollable. Hot water flows down in streams, with several streams every once in a while. Urine leakage is intermittent.

Smell: The smell of urine is strong and pungent, while the smell of amniotic fluid is natural and even sweet.

Amniotic fluid is colorless and transparent, and may contain floating substances such as vernix caseosa. When the water breaks, you will feel hot liquid flowing out of the vagina. This feeling is unconscious, uncontrollable, and continuous.

Premature rupture of membranes often causes symptoms such as premature birth, fetal hypoxia, fetal infection, and umbilical cord prolapse, so expectant mothers should pay attention to it. Some expectant mothers will have their water broken before delivery, while others will not. Neither of my two babies had their water broken. Both had their membranes artificially ruptured while I was waiting to give birth in the hospital.

Expectant mothers should not stand after their water breaks, as this can easily cause the amniotic fluid to leak out, causing fetal distress in the uterus and complications such as fetal asphyxia.

As long as water breaks, regardless of whether the due date has arrived or whether there are uterine contractions, the expectant mother must rush to the hospital immediately. She should lie down in the car, put a pillow or something like that under her buttocks, and raise her hips. Because once the amniotic fluid breaks, the barrier that protects the fetus from infection will be weakened, and the infection can sometimes be transmitted from the vagina to the uterus. Also to prevent the baby from suffocating.
