What is uterine contraction?

Before giving birth, many expectant mothers are worried and think that a small amount of noise is a sign of delivery. In fact, the mother needs to relax and uterine contractions are not terrible. The most vivid description of the feeling of uterine contractions is that the abdomen feels tightening and hardening, and the waves of these are called uterine contractions. Mild uterine contractions may not be felt or may be similar to the lower abdominal pain during menstruation. When uterine contractions come like a wave, waves of pain spread to the lower abdomen, or there is a feeling of back pain and diarrhea in the lower abdomen, this type of uterine contraction is to prepare for the birth of the newborn.

What does uterine contraction feel like?

Uterine contractions are simply uterine contractions. They are an important feature of women during pregnancy. They usually occur in the last few months of pregnancy, especially in the last few weeks, with irregular uterine contractions. Uterine contractions are irregular and weak at first, but over time they become more regular and stronger, lasting longer and shorter.

So what does it feel like to have contractions? Generally, when the baby is moving, if you put the door handle on the abdomen, you can feel that the abdomen is often hard, but at this time the uterine contraction is still not painful and there is no regularity.

However, when the delivery period comes, uterine contractions are accompanied by pain, which is a precursor to delivery. At the beginning, some pregnant women feel the pain of uterine contractions in the abdomen, while some women feel it in the waist. But there is no need to worry too much, because if there is no obvious uterine contraction, you may not feel anything, or it may be like lower abdominal pain during menstruation, but the degree of this pain varies from person to person.

Uterine contractions come like a wave, with waves of pain spreading to the lower abdomen, or a feeling of lower back pain and diarrhea. This kind of uterine contraction is a preparation for the birth of the newborn. When you encounter it, relax a little. As long as you cooperate with the doctor and use the breathing exercises you have trained to coordinate with the uterine contraction, you can successfully pass the childbirth stage.

What does false labor feel like?

Are there false labors as well? That's right, uterine contractions are divided into false contractions and pathological uterine contractions. False contractions do not mean that labor is about to occur, while the occurrence of pathological uterine contractions means that the fetus is about to be born. We have talked about the feeling of pathological contractions above, so what does false contractions feel like?

There is no regularity to false labor. With the advancement of the month and the decrease in the tilt of the head, the frequency of false labor will become more and more frequent. However, this does not mean that it will happen before delivery. False labor will begin to occur in the second half of pregnancy. If the pregnant mother stays in one posture for a long time, the abdomen will suddenly harden. This is the manifestation of false labor.

When false labor occurs, the pregnant mother will feel a sudden hardening of the abdomen, especially when the pregnant mother is in one posture for a long time, but the abdomen will not be as painful as when true labor occurs. There is no regularity in the timing of false contractions. The time interval between two contractions is also different, and the timing of each uterine contraction is also different. Moreover, false contractions occur early and may occur anytime and anywhere after 28 weeks, but true contractions mostly occur after 38 weeks. There is no need to be anxious when false labor occurs, it has no effect on pregnant women and fetuses.
