What causes vaginal bleeding after menopause?

After menopause, vaginal bleeding should not be ignored, because if it is a tumor problem, this symptom will also appear. Senile vaginitis, endometritis or other infectious problems can also cause this symptom.

1. Tumor

The presence of tumors in the reproductive system can cause symptoms of vaginal bleeding, such as tumors in the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterine body, ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc., especially uterine body cancer and cervical cancer, which are the most common causes of bleeding. Irregular vaginal bleeding is one of the early manifestations of these diseases.

2. Senile vaginitis

Women will enter menopause at a certain age. After menopause, the function of the ovaries will decline significantly, the estrogen level in the body will decrease, the vaginal mucosa will become thinner, and because the glycogen content and the number of bacteria in the epithelial cells decrease, and the acidity decreases, the body's ability to resist disease also decreases. At this time, it is very easy to be infected and cause local ulcers and bleeding.

3. Endometritis

Diseases such as endometritis, endometrial polyps, and tuberculous endometritis can all cause vaginal bleeding.

4. Chronic cervical lesions, cervical erosion, cervical polyps and other symptoms can also cause vaginal bleeding.

5. Infectious vaginitis

Candidiasis, trichomoniasis, and amoebic vaginitis caused by fungal, trichomonal, and amebic infections can all lead to vaginal bleeding.

In addition, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, blood diseases and other conditions can easily be mistaken for symptoms of vaginal bleeding, so you need to be careful to make good judgments.
