What is the cause of fever after cesarean section?

Caesarean section is a very common method of delivery for women. This method of delivery is very quick and convenient, but it can also cause harm to women's bodies. During the cesarean section, the woman's belly must be cut open first, and then the uterus must be opened before the fetus can be taken out. Therefore, postoperative care must be done to avoid inflammation of the wound. Some women will have a fever after a cesarean section. What's going on?

Some mothers say that they will have a fever after cesarean section. This is because cesarean section surgery is harmful to the human body, and high fever after surgery is one of the postoperative manifestations of many surgeries. The body is generally weak after surgery, so what should you do if you have a fever after a cesarean section?

Generally speaking, a fever after cesarean section that does not exceed 38 degrees is considered surgical fever and is caused by absorption. If the fever is caused by surgical fever, you can reduce it by drinking more boiled water or by covering yourself with a thick quilt to sweat. If the fever is caused by inflammation due to wound healing, it will generally subside within 2-3 days. However, mothers should not breastfeed their babies during this period, because breast milk with inflammation is not good for the baby.

If the temperature exceeds 38 degrees, there may be an infection in the body. The mother should go to the hospital for a physical examination in time and use antibiotics for treatment under the guidance of a doctor. If the fever is caused by a viral infection, such as influenza, the mother and baby need to be separated in time to avoid infection and affect the baby's normal growth.

The mother's body is generally weak after giving birth, so she needs to rest well and take good care of herself to speed up her recovery. Pay attention to wound care after delivery; mothers should wait until the gas is discharged before eating; and exercise as soon as possible after delivery, which is beneficial to the body's recovery, but try not to pull the wound during activities; in terms of diet, do not eat spicy foods, such as peppers and garlic, which will irritate the wound.
