Nowadays, many women are starting to lose weight, and are even willing to ignore their own health in order to have a slim figure. In fact, women nowadays are generally underweight, and improper weight loss can cause some problems for women’s bodies. A normal weight not only provides a certain level of protection for the body, but also can resist disease to a certain extent. So, what is the normal height and weight for girls?

Standard weight is one of the important indicators that reflect and measure a person's health status. Being too fat or too thin is not good for your health and will not give you a sense of fitness. A large amount of statistical data on different body types shows that the most ideal and simple indicator of normal weight can be expressed by the relationship between height and weight.

Healthy weight refers to the scientific management of weight based on health. Weight and health management abandons the traditional idea and practice of only focusing on weight and not health.

Low weight affects the physical and intellectual development of minors, the physical strength of adults, and is also related to low immunity, irregular menstruation or amenorrhea, osteoporosis, anemia, depression and other diseases, ultimately affecting life expectancy.

Overweight and obesity are the result of energy intake exceeding energy expenditure, resulting in excessive accumulation of body fat. Therefore, avoiding excessive energy intake from the diet, increasing physical activity to increase energy expenditure, and controlling energy balance are basic conditions for maintaining a healthy weight.

With the improvement of modern means of transportation, the amount of professional physical labor and housework has been reduced, and people's time in static life has increased. Most obese people are relatively inactive; sitting and watching TV is the main way for many people to relax and pass their spare time, which has become one of the main causes of obesity; in addition, some people have reduced physical activity due to physical disabilities or certain diseases; some athletes fail to reduce their energy intake accordingly after stopping regular exercise, which may cause excess energy to be stored in the form of fat.

Scientific research has found that different individuals respond differently to energy intake, food thermogenic effects and weight regulation, which are influenced by genetic characteristics (such as physiology, metabolism) and lifestyle (such as social, behavioral, cultural, dietary, activity level and psychological factors). Although there are genetic factors, the occurrence and development of obesity is also the result of the interaction between multiple factors such as environmental factors and lifestyle. In other words, obesity is a complex disease caused by multiple factors, and the cause of obesity cannot be simply explained by a single factor.
