Will there be watery leucorrhea during ovulation?

Many women are prone to watery leucorrhea during ovulation. During ovulation, leucorrhea is easily affected, which can easily cause the leucorrhea to be thinner, or watery, or egg white-like, etc. This is a relatively normal phenomenon. If there is an odor, or the leucorrhea thickens and the color of the leucorrhea changes, this may be a sign of disease.

Is it normal to have watery vaginal discharge during ovulation?

The stringy leucorrhea is a clinical manifestation of ovulation. In the early stage of ovulation, the leucorrhea becomes thinner and thinner, becoming transparent watery. On the day of ovulation, it becomes like egg white and can be stretched into a thread of about ten centimeters. After ovulation, the leucorrhea becomes more and more turbid and drier. During the ovulation period, due to the increase in estrogen and progesterone levels, there will be more vaginal discharge. It is normal to have watery vaginal discharge without itching or odor. It is recommended to observe the leucorrhea situation.

Abnormal leucorrhea

1. Cheese-like or tofu-like leucorrhea: It is candidal vaginitis, often accompanied by severe vulvar itching or burning pain.

2. Thin, purulent, yellow-green, foamy, foul-smelling leucorrhea is characteristic of Trichomonas vaginitis, accompanied by vulvar itching.

3. Grayish white, thin, fishy-smelling leucorrhea is a characteristic of bacterial vaginosis, accompanied by mild itching of the vulva.

4. Purulent leucorrhea: yellow or yellow-green in color, sticky, and often has a foul odor, caused by bacterial infection. It can be seen in gonorrheal Neisseria vaginitis, acute cervicitis and endocervicitis, vaginal cancer or cervical cancer complicated by infection. Purulent leucorrhea can also be caused by uterine cavity pyometra or foreign bodies retained in the vagina.

5. Watery leucorrhea: Vaginal discharge that is thin, watery or rice-like and has a fishy odor. It is seen in advanced cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, or submucosal fibroids with infection. Intermittent discharge of clear, yellow-red or red watery leucorrhea should be considered as a possible cause of fallopian tube cancer.

6. Bloody leucorrhea: There is blood mixed in the leucorrhea, and the amount of blood varies. Cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical polyps, cervical columnar epithelium ectopia with infection or uterine submucosal fibroids should be considered. Insertion of an intrauterine device can also cause bloody leucorrhea.

During the ovulation period, women will have more vaginal discharge due to the influence of estrogen in their bodies, which is a normal phenomenon. However, women should pay attention to observe the changes in leucorrhea. If it is different from normal, they may have vaginitis and should receive timely symptomatic treatment. Women should pay attention to vaginal hygiene, keep their genitals dry, and try to wear pure cotton underwear.
