How many days is the safe period

Generally speaking, after the menstrual period ends, women will enter the safe period, during which there can be a certain contraceptive effect. Generally speaking, the safe period is only 7 days, but it is not fixed. Because some women have endocrine disorders, they are prone to ovulation in advance, which shortens the safe period. Therefore, if you want to prevent pregnancy, you cannot rely solely on the safe period.

According to foreign statistics, the failure rate of calendar method contraception is 14.4%-47%. Therefore, this method is only suitable for people who have normal menstrual cycles, live together for a long time, and can correctly calculate the safe period. This method is not reliable for those with irregular menstrual cycles, couples visiting relatives, and women whose living environment has changed.

Temperature method

Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature of a healthy person after waking up in the morning. It is generally the lowest body temperature of the day. For women of normal childbearing age, body temperature rises immediately after ovulation and continues until the start of the next menstrual cycle. Use the changing pattern of a woman's basal body temperature to find her ovulation day, and abstain from sexual intercourse 3 to 4 days before and 5 to 7 days after.

Observation

Women's vaginal secretions change regularly during the different stages of the menstrual cycle. During ovulation, the amount of mucus increases, the vagina feels damp, the mucus becomes clear, and the mucus can be stretched into threads, up to 10 cm long. The last day this mucus lasts is usually the day of ovulation. No sexual intercourse during the first 3-4 days and the last 5-7 days.

Safe period sexual intercourse is suitable for people with normal menstrual cycles, couples who often live together, and who can master and strictly abide by the safe period. Couples who do not live together often, women who have given birth or miscarriage, women who have changes in their mental state, living environment and health, and women who cannot master the safe period, and newlyweds who are emotionally excited and have strong sexual desire are not suitable for safe contraception.

The safe period is the so-called seven days before and eight days after menstruation. The seven days before and eight days after menstruation are safe, and it is counted from the first day of menstruation. For example, if your period comes on the 20th, the 20th to 27th is your safe period. But this is just a general rule. Generally speaking, the safe period before ovulation is 8 days, and the safe period after ovulation is 7 days. In fact, the 8 days before ovulation are not only unsafe, but the most dangerous. Because many people mistakenly believe that the few days after menstruation ends are the safe period and do not take contraceptive measures, the probability of accidental pregnancy is much higher than taking contraceptive measures during the "dangerous period". 7 days after ovulation is relatively safe. Many people have misunderstandings, including some people who have been using this method for a long time and a few doctors.
