Why do women have urethral pain?

When urinating, urine is discharged directly through the bladder and urethra. This is a cyclic process and also a function of the human body, so there are no strange symptoms. However, some people not only feel stinging symptoms in the urethra when urinating, but also bloating and pain, and often have urine retention. This may be caused by urethritis, urinary tract infection or cystitis, so you need to find out the cause.

1. The most common cause of painful urination is urinary tract infection. Women's urethra is relatively short and close to the vagina. Vaginal secretions are contaminated and often lead to urinary tract infections, especially when they are less active, drink less water, and urinate less. The most common symptoms are frequent urination, urgency, pain when urinating, and a feeling of incomplete urination.

2. Vaginitis, increased vaginal secretions. Also because the urethra and vagina are relatively close, when there is vaginitis, there are many inflammatory cells in the vaginal secretions, which are secreted and contaminate the urethra, and urination pain will also occur, which is similar to the symptoms of urinary tract infection.

The two situations mentioned above mainly involve pain in the urethra or lower abdomen when urinating, so many people are afraid to urinate. If you urinate less, the bacteria in the urinary tract cannot be excreted in time, the urinary tract infection will worsen, and the stinging sensation when urinating will become more and more severe.

There is another situation where it is not actually urethral pain, but pain in the vulva skin caused by urine staining the vulva skin after urination. This situation is also relatively common. It is usually caused by vaginal inflammatory secretions or increased anal secretions, which stimulate the vulva and cause local congestion. After urination, a small amount of urine irritates the skin and causes pain.

When urination is painful, be sure to drink plenty of water and urinate more often so that any bacteria in the urine can be excreted as soon as possible and the symptoms of urinary tract irritation will disappear. A mild urinary tract infection will heal without taking anti-inflammatory drugs and by drinking plenty of water.

If drinking more water does not relieve the symptoms, you should check your urine and vaginal discharge as soon as possible, and then use medication to treat the symptoms accordingly.

In normal times, you should also drink more water, try not to hold your urine, and clean your vulva more often, especially during menstruation.
