Precautions after accidental miscarriage

Precautions after accidental miscarriage

It is not too late to get pregnant, and you may suffer miscarriage due to falls, abdominal injuries, etc. You need to be observed in the hospital for two months after miscarriage, mainly to check the vaginal bleeding and whether there are symptoms of severe abdominal pain, to avoid heavy bleeding and no time for rescue. Then return home to recuperate for at least two weeks, try to close the doors and windows to avoid catching cold. During this time, try to eat foods that promote endometrial repair and supplement nutrition.

Things to note after an abortion:

You should be observed for 2 hours after the abortion procedure, paying attention to vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain. If there is no reaction, you can go home.

You need to rest for 2 weeks after an abortion, prevent colds and chills, and eat more nutritious food to restore your body to normal as soon as possible.

For a period of time after an artificial abortion, the trauma on the endometrium has not yet recovered, the cervical opening has relaxed, the original mucus plug in the cervix (which prevents bacteria from entering the uterine cavity) has been removed, and a new mucus plug has not yet formed. If you do not pay attention to the hygiene of the vulva at this time, bacteria in the vagina can easily enter the uterine cavity and cause infection. Therefore, after an artificial abortion, the vulva should be kept clean and hygienic, washed with warm water 1-2 times a day, and menstrual pads and straw paper should be changed frequently.

Do not take a sitz bath within 2 weeks or before vaginal bleeding has stopped, and avoid sexual intercourse within 1 month to prevent genital organ infection. If you have fever, abdominal pain, or vaginal discharge with an unusual odor, it may be caused by infection and you should seek medical attention immediately.

After the placenta is separated during artificial abortion, there may be a small amount of bleeding on the wound left on the uterine wall. In this case, as the uterus contracts and the wound heals, vaginal bleeding will gradually stop within 3-5 days and will not exceed 10-15 days at most. If the amount of vaginal bleeding exceeds the amount of menstrual blood and lasts too long, you need to seek medical treatment promptly.

In most cases, the ovaries will resume ovulation in about one month after an artificial abortion, followed by menstruation. Therefore, as soon as you resume your sexual life after an abortion, you must take contraceptive measures to avoid getting pregnant again. If you are planning to use an IUD for contraception, you can have it inserted at the same time as the abortion, because the success rate of the IUD is high, the shedding rate is low, and there are fewer side effects.

After an artificial abortion, it is still necessary to make reasonable arrangements for the quantity, quality and mutual combination of various foods to meet the body's needs for protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, inorganic salts, water and cellulose. In order to promote recovery after artificial abortion, dietary adjustments should focus on the following points:

(1) Protein is an important component of antibodies. If it is not consumed enough, the body's resistance will be reduced. Within half a month after an artificial abortion, 1.5 to 2 grams of protein should be given per kilogram of body weight, and the daily amount is about 100 to 150 grams. Therefore, you can eat more chicken, lean pork, eggs, milk, beans, and bean products.

(2) After an artificial abortion, the body is weak and prone to sweating. Therefore, water should be replenished in small amounts and multiple times to reduce water evaporation; more water-soluble vitamins are excreted in sweat, especially vitamin C, vitamin B1, and vitamin B2, so you should eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. This also helps prevent constipation.

(3) On the basis of a normal diet, appropriately limit fat. Within one week after surgery, fat should be controlled at around 80 grams per day. People with menstrual disorders should avoid eating irritating foods, such as chili peppers, wine, vinegar, pepper, ginger, etc. These foods can stimulate congestion of the sexual organs and increase menstrual volume. They should also avoid eating cold foods such as crabs, snails, and clams.
