Why do I have stomach pain during menstruation?

Dysmenorrhea refers to periodic lower abdominal pain or pain in the lumbar region that women experience during their menstrual period or before and after their menstrual period. In severe cases, it may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, cold sweats, cold hands and feet, and even severe pain and fainting. It is also called menstrual abdominal pain. What causes dysmenorrhea? The causes of dysmenorrhea are as follows:

1. Cervical stenosis: Cervical stenosis in women can cause obstructed menstrual blood outflow and cause pain, which is called dysmenorrhea.

2. Uterine hypoplasia: Uterine hypoplasia can lead to abnormal blood supply, causing ischemia and hypoxia in the uterus, causing uterine muscle spasms and contractions, thus leading to dysmenorrhea.

3. Gynecological diseases: such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., which can affect the outflow of menstrual blood and cause dysmenorrhea.

4. Contraceptive tools: If there are contraceptive tools in the body, especially intrauterine devices, it will often aggravate the severity of dysmenorrhea.

5. Excessive stress: The mind is in a state of excessive tension, making it more sensitive to pain.

6. Overeating raw and cold food: Raw and cold food will stimulate excessive spasmodic contraction of the uterus, affecting the normal discharge of menstrual blood, thus causing dysmenorrhea.

7. Irregular work and rest schedule: Irregular work and rest schedule can easily cause endocrine disorders, which are often manifested as irregular menstruation and dysmenorrhea.

8. Addiction to smoking and drinking: The ingredients in tobacco and alcohol can interfere with the physiological process of menstruation and easily lead to dysmenorrhea.

9. Vigorous exercise: Vigorous exercise during menstruation may cause menstrual blood to flow back from the uterine cavity into the pelvic cavity, causing endometriosis and dysmenorrhea.

10. Genetic factors: Dysmenorrhea may be inherited. There is a certain relationship between women’s dysmenorrhea and their mother’s dysmenorrhea.
