Is vaginitis contagious?

Vaginitis is a common gynecological disease caused by a viral infection. The route of infection is generally through sexual intercourse. If you do not pay attention to sexual hygiene, it is easy to cause vaginitis. If vaginitis is a viral infection, it may be transmitted through sexual intercourse, especially diseases such as genital warts. Therefore, girls with symptoms of vaginitis should seek timely treatment to avoid affecting the function of the uterus.

The reason why vaginitis is considered a group of gynecological diseases is that there are many pathogens that cause vaginitis. Vaginitis caused by different pathogens has different manifestations. Some of the pathogens can be transmitted through sexual intercourse or close contact, but some cannot be transmitted through sexual intercourse.

When it comes to sexually transmitted diseases, people may be more afraid, but when it comes to vaginitis, people may not be so scared. In fact, vaginitis is part of the common sexually transmitted diseases. Vaginitis caused by candidal vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, and mycoplasma and chlamydia infections are all within the scope of sexually transmitted diseases. This means that these diseases can be transmitted through sexual intercourse. Of course, it can also be transmitted through close contact in daily life.

Once infected with vaginitis, the secretions should be checked to identify the pathogens causing the vaginitis. Then give appropriate treatment. If the vaginitis is caused by candidal vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, or mycoplasma or chlamydia infection, it is best for both spouses to receive treatment at the same time. If sexual intercourse occurs during treatment, condoms should be used to avoid cross infection.

Although some types of vaginitis can be contagious, there is no need to be too nervous about vaginitis as it is not a serious disease. As long as you pay attention to prevention in daily life and get checked and treated as soon as possible after becoming ill, it can be completely cured.

Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva, wear loose and breathable underwear, and expose the underwear to the sun frequently to reduce the chance of infection. Some women like to use drugs to flush the vagina, thinking that this is the only way to clean it thoroughly. In fact, this practice is wrong. It can destroy the environment inside the vagina and reduce one's own resistance, making it more susceptible to various diseases.
