Transvaginal ultrasound technique

Vaginal ultrasound is a very common gynecological examination method. Vaginal ultrasound is a gynecological examination of women through the vagina. Many female friends feel very nervous when doing transvaginal ultrasound. In fact, the more nervous they are, the more uncomfortable they will feel, and some people even feel pain. Let’s take a look at whether a vaginal ultrasound is painful and how long it takes. What are the techniques for transvaginal ultrasound?

Is vaginal ultrasound painful? How long does it take?

Vaginal ultrasound is the general name for vaginal B-ultrasound. The process is to insert the B-ultrasound camera into the vagina or duodenum for examination. It usually does not take a long time, about five minutes or so. You do not need to hold your urine, and the pain is within the tolerable range of the body. Vaginal ultrasound images are clearer than abdominal B-ultrasound, and the results are more accurate. Therefore, there is no need to be anxious and relieved during the examination.

The intravaginal camera has certain advantages over abdominal exploration:

1. It is sensitive to uterine artery, uterus and ovary blood, and has high information display rate.

2. Reduce inspection time and obtain accurate Doppler frequency band.

3. No need to fill your bladder.

4. It will not be affected by obesity, abdominal scars, intestinal inflation, etc.

5. Use the movement of the top of the camera to find the painful position of the pelvic organs and determine whether there is adhesion in the pelvis.

2. Ask the patient to urinate and take the lithotomy position.

3. Cover the camera inside the vagina with a disposable condom and apply a disinfectant coupling agent inside and outside the condom.

4. The operator wears gloves, holds the camera handle with his left hand, and slowly inserts the camera into the vaginal vault.

5. During operation, tilt, slide the door, and rotate the camera handle to observe the entire pelvic structure.

In short, vaginal ultrasound is to examine a woman's uterus and gynecological problems through the vagina. The accuracy of transvaginal ultrasound will be better.
