Does tender breasts during lactation mean low milk supply?

Does tender breasts during lactation mean low milk supply?

Many women experience tender breasts during lactation, which is most likely caused by low milk supply. If there is less milk, the child will be affected to a certain extent. Therefore, in order to ensure that the child can eat enough and develop normally, it is more important to take certain methods to increase milk supply. In addition, during the breastfeeding period, women also need to take good care of their breasts!

1. Does soft breasts during lactation mean low milk supply?

Soft breasts mean that there is not much milk, at least it does not fill the entire breast. Otherwise, your breasts will become very hard when your milk is engorged. You have to work hard to increase your milk production. Drinking more soups and water will help increase your milk production. Use a breast pump more often, the more you pump, the more milk you will produce.

Logically speaking, the more the baby drinks, the more milk will be produced. If the baby eats on one side and milk leaks out from the other side, it means that the baby has enough to eat. If the milk does not increase or leak, it is recommended to add milk powder. However, mothers should not be too stressed. The more the baby drinks, the more milk will be produced.

2. What to do if you have less milk during breastfeeding

If you want more milk, let your baby suck more and suck it clean every time to achieve breastfeeding on demand. If the baby falls asleep after eating for a while, and wakes up to eat again, let her eat. The mother should be patient. The more the baby sucks, the more milk he will get. Your baby is the best lactation consultant.

Keep your mood relaxed and happy, and pay more attention to rest. Don’t be angry, otherwise it will be bad for your baby if you drink such milk. Getting angry can easily cause milk to dry up, and not getting enough rest can also easily reduce milk supply. It is normal for working mothers to have poor breast milk supply due to lack of rest and high work pressure.

Believe in yourself and persevere. You must have confidence and believe that you have milk. You must persist in eating milk-producing soup, drinking plenty of water, milk and soy milk, and you will be able to successfully increase your milk production.

3. Breast care during lactation

If the mother has inverted nipples, she will not be able to breastfeed, and the newborn will not be able to suck milk, which will affect its growth and development. For the mother, poor milk discharge will lead to blocked milk ducts and milk congestion, making acute mastitis and breast abscesses more likely to occur.

Ways to correct inverted nipples include:

Ask your husband to help wash out the inverted nipples and squeeze out the milk, which can be fed to the baby. Then let your husband suck your inverted nipples. Do it 4 times a day, each time for about 3 to 5 minutes.

Use a breast pump to express for 1 minute each time, 4 times a day.

The mother holds the lower part of the breast with one hand, and pinches the sunken nipple with the index finger, middle finger and thumb of the other hand, pulling it outward to the long position, and holds for about 30 seconds. Repeat the stretch several times and do it for a full 10 minutes. Do this 4 times a day, working for a full 40 minutes.
