In fact, women are still quite afraid when they suffer from ectopic pregnancy, because it is a serious disease that must be treated surgically. However, when they go to the hospital to see a doctor, they don’t know whether they should go to the gynecology department or the obstetrics department. No matter which department they go to, they first need to do a clear examination to determine whether the woman has an ectopic pregnancy. So is it better to go to the gynecology department or the obstetrics department for ectopic pregnancy? Which department should I go to to check whether I am pregnant? Go to a regular hospital for a gynecological check-up and visit the obstetrics and gynecology department. Generally, some hospitals have gynecology and obstetrics departments. In this case, please go to the gynecology department. Common pregnancy test methods 1. Urine test is the most common method for early pregnancy detection. It can be tested at home using early pregnancy test strips or in the hospital. To improve accuracy, it is best to use morning urine test. A positive urine test result proves pregnancy. If it is negative, the test should be repeated after one week. The test results are generally reliable, but in order to rule out ectopic pregnancy, you still need to go to the hospital for examination. The doctor may also do a blood test, which is usually used within a week of the menstrual period. The hcg test in the blood can determine whether pregnancy is present. 2. Using B-ultrasound to diagnose early pregnancy is the most accurate and reliable method. As early as the 5th week of pregnancy, which is one week after the menstrual period, a round halo in the uterus, also known as the pregnancy ring, can be seen on the B-type ultrasound screen. The dark area inside the ring is amniotic fluid, in which a rhythmic fetal heartbeat can also be seen. 3. A gynecological examination to confirm pregnancy should be done 40 days after menstruation stops, but a gynecological examination still needs to be done in a professional and regular hospital. 4. Basal body temperature measurement is the simplest and easiest method. Measure your body temperature in bed every morning after waking up. The temperature at this time is called basal body temperature. Generally, the body temperature is below 36.5 degrees before ovulation. After ovulation, the progesterone level rises and acts on the body temperature center, causing the body temperature to rise by 0.3-0.5 degrees. If the egg cannot be fertilized, progesterone levels will drop after about a week and the body temperature will return to normal; if pregnancy has occurred, progesterone levels will remain high, keeping the body temperature high as well. If the high temperature curve phenomenon in the basal body temperature persists for more than 18 days, early pregnancy can generally be confirmed. It is also important to note that X-rays cannot be used to diagnose early pregnancy. Because only after 18-20 weeks of pregnancy can X-rays show fetal bone shadows, and X-rays in early pregnancy can damage the fetus. |
