Vaginal polyp symptoms

Vaginal polyp symptoms

When vaginal polyps first occur, patients will not feel any obvious symptoms, but as the disease worsens, patients will feel that there are always signs of small amounts of bleeding in their vagina. However, the symptoms are not very serious. As the disease progresses, patients will also experience vaginal itching and increased leucorrhea secretions. Once this occurs, appropriate treatment must be taken immediately.

Common symptoms

Polyps Swelling of the vaginal mucosa Continuous small amount of vaginal bleeding

Vaginal wall polyps are mostly asymptomatic, but may cause a small amount of vaginal bleeding or contact bleeding. Many of them are discovered during follow-up examinations after surgery. They are located on the suture line at the top of the vagina, are often the size of a grain of rice, and are red swellings that can cause a small amount of bleeding when touched.

examine

Routine blood test and secretion examination. Histopathological examination.

Differential diagnosis

diagnosis

It is easier to diagnose based on the history of uterine surgery, clinical manifestations, gynecological examination and histopathological examination.

Differential Diagnosis

1. Differentiate between vaginal wall polyps and vaginal cancer.

2. Vaginal skin tags.

3. Postoperative fallopian tube prolapse Fallopian tube prolapse can be a complication after vaginal hysterectomy, but it is rare after abdominal hysterectomy. Touching the prolapsed fallopian tube can cause severe pain, radiating to the patient's waist. This will not occur in granulation tissue. Pathological examination will help further diagnosis.

Surgery

Endoscopic (vaginal endoscopy) polypectomy is a very effective measure to prevent polyps from becoming cancerous. The methods of endoscopic treatment of polyps include: high-frequency electrocoagulation and electroresection, high-frequency electrocautery, laser therapy, microwave therapy, injection removal, cryotherapy, etc. Surgery should be performed with caution in patients with large polyps, thick pedicles, or those suffering from hypertension, heart disease, or blood diseases. The removed polyps were sent for pathological examination to rule out cancer.

Prognosis

The prognosis for noncancerous lesions is good. Follow-up examination should be conducted 3 months after surgery, and then every 6 months to 1 year thereafter.

Nursing

In the diet, you should pay attention to eating more light, nutritious foods and pay attention to a balanced diet. Avoid spicy food. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.

Diet and health care

Good to eat

1. Eat more soybeans and their products. Such as tofu, soy milk, dried tofu, vegetables such as celery, broccoli, edamame, sweet beans and other foods. Because these foods can supplement phytoestrogens, the isoflavones and lignin contained in phytoestrogens are believed by scientists to have antioxidant effects.

2. Supplement vitamin C intake. Vitamin C can inhibit the damage caused by viruses, which is very important. Scientists have recently discovered that vitamin C has more than a dozen immune-enhancing effects. Vegetables rich in vitamin C are: cauliflower, white radish, potato, Chinese cabbage, rapeseed and other green vegetables.

3. Supplement trace elements zinc and selenium. Zinc and selenium play an extremely important role in the production and function of immune cells. Scientific research shows that low levels of zinc and selenium in the body can cause a weakened immune system. Animal foods that are rich in trace elements zinc and selenium are: oysters, fish, lean meat, animal offal, eggs, beef kidneys, pork kidneys, shrimps, etc. Eggs have the highest zinc content. Foods rich in zinc and selenium among plant materials include: edible fungi, seaweed, sesame, peanuts, wheat germ flour, nuts, etc.
