White pustules on breastfeeding nipples

Mothers who are breastfeeding always pay special attention to breast health, because breast health during this period directly determines the quality of milk. More importantly, breast problems are extremely likely to occur during breastfeeding, and if one is not careful, mastitis caused by milk blockage may occur. During breastfeeding, mothers can easily find breast problems. Some mothers find white pustules on their nipples during breastfeeding. What is going on?

It is most likely mastitis. Acute mastitis (patillitis) is an acute suppurative disease of the breast, generally caused by Staphylococcus aureus infection. It is more common in primiparas during the lactation period. Bacteria can invade from damaged or cracked nipples, or directly invade the milk ducts, and then spread to the breast substance. Generally speaking, acute mastitis has a short course and a good prognosis, but if not treated properly, the course of the disease will be prolonged, and even systemic suppurative infection may occur. It is recommended that you go to a regular hospital to see a doctor and find out the details. Folk remedy: Use the oil fried from cooked eggs to apply externally. Pay attention to hygiene and daily care: When breastfeeding, be careful not to let the baby hold the nipple alone.

Mastitis

Mastitis refers to an acute suppurative infection of the breast. It is a common disease in the postpartum period and one of the causes of postpartum fever. It is most common in lactating women, especially primiparas. It can occur at any time during lactation but is most common at the beginning of lactation.

In the early stages of mastitis, nipple fissures often occur, and nipple pain occurs during breastfeeding, accompanied by milk stagnation or lumps. In the middle stage, it will become purulent, the lump will not disappear or will gradually increase in size, the local pain will increase, and the symptoms will worsen. The situation becomes more serious in the later stages. The acute abscess matures and needs to rupture and discharge pus, or be drained by surgery. The situation becomes more serious with each stage, so you need to be cautious from the beginning.
