I have chest pain during my period.

Menstruation is one of the names for female menstruation. This is because every time a woman has her period, she will experience a period of physical discomfort. This period is also a stage when the female body's resistance is weak, which can easily cause great pain to women. Many women also suffer from some abnormal symptoms before and after menstruation. For example, why do they have chest pain when their menstruation is approaching? Let’s take a look at the explanation below.

Breast pain before menstruation may be caused by changes in hormone levels in the body. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a breast ultrasound examination to check whether there are symptoms of breast hyperplasia.

Due to the sudden decrease of sex hormones in the body before menstruation, it will affect the whole body system and cause certain reactions. These reactions usually occur 7-14 days before menstruation, worsen 2-3 days before menstruation, and gradually ease and disappear after menstruation. These changes are more obvious and are called premenstrual tension syndrome. We also do not rule out the possibility that you currently have some breast diseases. It is recommended that you go to a regular hospital for a check-up in time to achieve early detection and early treatment.

When menstruation comes, the estrogen level in the body increases, causing breast swelling and even varying degrees of pain. During menstruation, the levels of estrogen and progesterone will stabilize, the stimulation to the mammary glands will weaken, the breasts will become smaller and softer, and the pain will disappear. If the breast pain is severe, it may be related to endocrine disorders, or it may be breast hyperplasia or nodules. Go to the hospital for examination in time.

Mitigation methods:

1. Suitable underwear

When menstruation comes, the breasts will swell and ache. If you wear tight underwear, it will cause poor blood circulation in the breasts and increase the swell and pain. If the bra is too big, it will not be easy to hold the breasts in place and may also damage the breasts during activities. Usually, you should choose bras with appropriate cup and bust sizes.

2. Hot compress

Breast tenderness can be relieved by applying heat. Wrap a hot water bottle in a towel and apply it to the sore area of your breast. But be careful not to let the water temperature be too high to avoid scalding your skin.

3. Massage

Massage your breasts before your period is about to come. Do not rub or knead the breasts randomly. Massage in a clockwise direction according to the shape of the breasts. Use gentle force to avoid causing damage to the breasts, and do not massage when it hurts to avoid irritation.
